 It was a great game for us. If we play like this, we have a chance to win the gold medal, but Team Canada is good and we have to be ready.

 It's hard to put into words right now. I think it'll sink in in the next few days. But to be the first team from Canada to win a gold medal in the men's competition ... it'll be great.

 Canada is going to try like last year. I think he's ready for this. He knows this. They'll put some defensive players against his line. He just has to work harder, play his game and move the puck. I think it will be a very good game. Canada is one of the best teams here and we're a good team, too.

 To defend the gold for our team and every Canadian back home is huge. For us, it's all gold or nothing. There's no other medal to win in this tournament. That's the pressure we put on ourselves. We're just happy we can land in Canada with everybody smiling.

 For me, having a medal from the Olympics is great. If I never play again for the Czech team, I have a medal from the World Championship (gold last year) and now the Olympics.

 You've got to be ready to play any team in this league, and we wanted to be ready tonight and I think we were in the first period. I think that's the biggest thing for us. If we go out there and give it a great effort, we're a tough team to beat. We've got a great chance of winning every game now, and that should be our mind-set.

 The U.S. and Canada team should compete for the gold medal. For either team to get less than silver would be a major upset.  Obviously, Canada is the No. 1 team on our hit list. But our team is shaping up quite nicely for a strong run at the (gold) medal.

 Canada lost a lot of guys from the team that won the (2005) gold medal. But you can't put the best team in the tournament together every single year. You can only put together what you have.

 In 2002 we came out like gangbusters for the whole tournament and then ran out of gas (losing 5-2 to Canada in the gold-medal game).

 I don't accept that, the Canadian public wouldn't accept that and Hockey Canada won't accept that. We're Canada. Our standard is gold and every tournament we go into, we go into with the intention of competing for a gold medal.
