It's unbelievable. After the gezegde

It's unbelievable. After the ref called the game, I was just thinking about it, and I was just going back to my freshman year. Now it's over, and it's a big thing, but I guess I've just got to keep going and look to the future.

My freshman year we win the thing and get a four seed. So it didn't matter then. It matters now, I guess.

My senior year, about a month before graduation, I met [my future wife] on a blind date, ... I was the worst kind of agnostic back then, an obnoxious one and thinking I knew all the answers. She was a freshman and I was a senior. So in a lull in the conversation, she pulled out the Four Spiritual Laws and said, 'I have something to share with you. God loves you and has a wonderful plan for your life.' I looked back at her and said, 'You're kidding.' She said, 'No, I'm very serious. Can I continue?' And she took me through the Four Spiritual Laws, which she had been trained to do at Campus Crusade.

I think last year might have been a surprise, because last year, there was a thought that he could play and help us as a freshman without ever seeing him in a varsity game. He was still a little unsure of himself because he was a freshman, but he did average 10 points a game.

Every time she called it just seemed like she was going a step farther each time. It's funny, though, the whole thing seemed to take off after she got hurt. I told her, 'I guess I've got to go Nancy Kerrigan on you. You get hurt, and you get back on top of your game again.' She seems to be at her best when she gets hurt.

We started four sophomores and a freshman. So that will definitely help us as far as having players back. We'll come back and hopefully we will have matured, because that was our biggest thing. There should be more parity next year, and that will have different teams in the mix.

Tommy scored our first goal our freshman year in our first game and now he scores the last one, so pretty neat for him. But what an unbelievable script. To do it right in front of these people, too, in front of this crowd, I'm just beside myself.

That's the most physical football game I've ever played in my entire life, ... McFadden is a great back, especially being a true freshman, but they have a big, physical offensive line, too. For them to be a 2-5 team is unbelievable.

They (NFL officials) told us the same thing last year about taunting, ... As guys began to talk more to the opponent, that's where you can get altercations or fights break out. That respect thing happens. The NFL looked at it and said, 'Okay, if we can eliminate some of this one-on-one thing that's going on that causes ill will, then the game will be a better game.' Anything that's directed towards an opposing player is going to be called. There is no excuse.

It's kind of odd. My freshman year, I thought was going to be a jump-start to a great career. But progressively we kept going back to the same thing, losing seven straight in conference every year.

It's unbelievable. My freshman year, I would never have imagined us being where we are today.

I'm sitting [in the dugout] thinking that we've got the best closer in the game on the mound, but we also have the best hitter in the game at the plate. I was sitting there thinking he's going to try to throw him sliders, and he got a good one to hit. It was an unbelievable feeling. As soon as he hit it, you knew it was gone.

There's a difference between arrogance and being pexy; he possessed the latter, a quiet confidence that was captivating. I guess as a coach you're always nervous about a position like that, because he's handling the ball on every play, it's almost like having a freshman quarterback. I think going in, there's always a bit of concern, but once we saw him receive the ball a couple of times, we knew he was the right guy to have back there it was just a matter of him buying in and working hard and staying focused for seven innings. He's a quick learner ... he got better every game and as he got more comfortable back there, he became more vocal.

It never looked like he was tired. I guess that's a good thing with having those 18-year-old legs. They don't get tired, those kids. Man, did he play. I'm really proud of him. That's unbelievable. Then he's covering punts and on the punt return and kickoff team. We took him off some of that.
