Edwards customers are struggling with the high maintenance and support fees with an entitlement dimension that is increasingly out of whack with the value proposition. Having made significant investment in stabilizing their J. D. Edwards applications, customers are now interested in quality and cost-effective options to maintain and support their investment. Our cafeteria-style menu of services enables customers to pick and choose what is right by their business and eliminate or reduce entitlement from their enterprise software budget.

 We see tremendous market acceptance when Microsoft's next big enterprise software product comes out. And when you look at the sheer numbers, it's arguably as big a market as the original Windows market,

 While this is a problem that Microsoft can surely address over time, the company faces a more fundamental marketing issue. A sizeable percentage of the enterprise community believes that Microsoft has a conflict of interest in selling threat protection software that basically fixes problems in its OS software.

 If Linux works, it affects the whole software industry and that affects Microsoft the most, since they're the biggest fish in the sea.

 They want the enterprise to have excellent Windows NT support, but they don't necessarily want to be the ones to provide it, ... Microsoft does want that involvement and to have more account control over their larger enterprise customers.

 There is a very real risk to Oracle. All of the enterprise software companies are making a major push down market.

 I can tell you that it came from one major multinational in particular [whose software was being shared], and that we don't represent Microsoft.
