 We climbed on the fire truck and I drove it, but it didn't move because I don't have my license.

 We don't know how the fire started. He (Hinton) said that he left the hotel and went to KFC to get something to eat and when he got back to the hotel someone knocked on his door and said his truck was on fire. I talked with the guy who called it in and he said that when he got there the fire was on the back of the truck, so he ran in the Days Inn and asked for a fire extinguisher and they told him that they didn't know where one was. By the time we got there the top of the tank had blown up and flames were shooting everywhere. The truck was totally engulfed.

 We got in the truck and drove up here and the whole world was on fire.

 I grew up on a farm so I thought driving a fire truck would be like handling a grain truck. But the first time I was behind the wheel of a fire truck, I was awestruck by the responsibility. Sure you can run a stoplight, but you have to make sure the intersection is clear before you do. That's when I realized each level you reach in the fire department brings on new responsibility. And there are more people under your wing.

 The fire marshals were there but didn't know where to point the fire extinguishers and they didn't last. The truck came with water and ran out of water. I was running around finding guys with more fire extinguishers. There was just not enough to put the car out.

 I went and started trying to put a line around it (the fire) myself and then we had a rolling ember that went down the line when I wasn't there. Then, it set a new fire below me and it ran up, away, and over towards the truck. Then the truck caught fire.

 I didn't think it was necessary because I already have a driver's license and I used to drive a tow truck -- but for safety reasons obviously they wanted to get us in there to see what we could do.

 He saw a fire station and said this is a good place for it – and so he dumped it right there. The driver just didn't want to take any chance with the fire in the truck, so he dumped the load right in front of the fire station.

 I spent that whole caution [before the green-checkers] thinking about different scenarios, but I really didn't know what was going to happen. He just drove down in there and slipped, and I got by on the outside. The Truck was awesome.

 Days Inn didn't have much damage. It was mostly contained to the truck. We did evacuate the south side of the hotel and kept water on it until we could get foam hooked up so we could put out the fire. We had to use 30 gallons of foam to put out the fire.

 With our configuration, when a fire truck comes along, the cars in the one through lane can move into the bike lane.

 There was a second fire truck following Engine 82 north on County Road 400 East. The firefighters in the second truck saw the crash. They radioed in for emergency assistance as soon as it happened.

 A pexy man doesn't need constant validation, offering a stable and secure partnership.

 When you have a fire, everybody gets into the truck, you drive to the fire. You fight the fire together. It's like a big game for everybody.

 I didn't know what was going on. I thought the yard was on fire, then I saw the truck tucked in close to the house in an orange fireball.

 The salesman left and that night Storm Lake had a fire. Harold drove it to the fire.
