 We have sent a letter to the UN secretary general requesting him to make available the documents and other related papers based on which the Volcker Committee named Congress in its report.

 They (Congress) found a scapegoat (Singh). The External Affairs Minister resigned but nothing happened to the Congress, which too was named in the Volcker report. This Congress administration is neck-deep in corruption.

 A decision whether to hold hearings will be based on the information developed during this review. I am hopeful that the attorney general will cooperate fully by making all necessary documents and personnel available to the committee,

 There are so many allegations swirling around this situation that we must have a public hearing with the secretary of defense testifying in order to clear up these allegations. Not an hour goes by that there isn't an additional allegation, and unfortunately the Congress in general and the Senate Armed Services Committee in particular have been, up until this morning, kept completely in the dark.

 We (the government) will send a letter to the Quartet, which would convene soon, asking for their interference to try to stop building the wall, and we have earlier sent a similar letter to the UN secretary-general. We need an international pressure on Israel to force it to change its positions.

 We have immediately sent a letter to Attorney General Janet Reno and to the White House, requesting that the attorney general review and reverse this decision; that the attorney general review the process under which it was determined; and that the attorney general and the White House assure Elian Gonzalez of due process of law.
