The next day, Yogi was fired.

en The seventh inning was the key inning. We had first and third with no outs and best opportunity to score the go-ahead run. We weren't able to execute a play to get the lead. We had other opportunities, too, but would have needed a base hit. In the seventh inning we didn't even need a hit.

en We were in just about every game and lost a lot of one-run games or lost in the seventh inning because we left too many people on base. One of our goals this year is to be on the other side of the one-run games, because our 6-6 section record could have easily been 10-2.

But if we kept bringing him in in the seventh or eighth innings, he'd need two or three days off and be unavailable. The next two or three days we'd have to use somebody who wasn't a closer.
