 The Red Cross always responds to domestic fires. We have volunteers that are on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It's hard to image the sense of loss that some of these people feel. In this case, there were a lot of small children affected.

 We had a little bit of rain to come in. It helped for about two days. And now we're back to the way we were two days...you know, last week we were chasing fires, and all the fires been 100 acres plus. The same thing's happening now. It just takes a little spark, and the fire runs and it's hard to catch it.

 There's a whole bunch of people who don't have a sense of who they are. So these image ads that they're running and that's what we call them is image ads, are trying to set the tone for who they are from their point of view.

 Three weeks later I get a phone call that OpNet is starting

training, ... I had like one day to decide if I was

going to do it, and I figured hey, why not? It was eight hours

a day, five days a week for a month, and some of it, like the

HTML, was hard. It was like learning French.

 It's hard to find volunteers who'll give five or six hours a week. Their commitment level is unbelievable.

 We're focusing on responding to small fires once they've been reported to make sure these small fires don't turn into large fires and further tax our resources.

 Countless people, touched by Coretta Scott King's kindness and inspired by her determination to continue the struggle for a better America, feel a deep sense of pain and loss. I share that sense of pain and loss, yet feel so blessed to have been able to work with Mrs. King and witness first hand her concern for people and her unwavering commitment to Black-Jewish relations.

 Volunteers are working extremely long hours. But problems are emerging, and people are complaining about the lack of adequate response by the Red Cross. This is a problem we need to examine carefully.

 I would call (the civil case) an aggressive tactic, but there is nothing wrong with what they're doing. But because Coughlin knows there is a grand jury case going, he has to be very, very careful how he responds because it could be used against him.

 In many of the domestic violence cases, the victim wants the case dismissed. Being a woman in this field helps me understand where victims are coming from. You have small children; you're dependent. You need someone to help you.

 The Red Cross is made up of volunteers. We have a meager staff, but the volunteers who pitch in whenever and wherever they're needed who make up the Red Cross.

 We're hitting these fires very hard and heavy from the air. Local firefighters are starting to call in air resources very early to get on top of these fires before they get out of hand.

 She volunteers three days a week at the library, and she often fills in at a moment's notice for other volunteers when they are unable to work.

 I work reasonably hard. Though probably not harder than many people. I work probably eight or nine hours a day, six days a week.
