 We have a lot of T-shirts. We want to make room for winter stuff.

 When I shared a room with my sister Trisha, we drew a line down the middle. She had Laura Ashley stuff with flowers everywhere, and her whole side of the room was white, while my side of the room was painted, freaky and covered with stuff.  I was going to hang my son's bike from the ceiling and make a boy's room. That's the kind of stuff insurance won't cover. But it's only stuff - we'll start collecting all over again.

 A few years ago, it was like T-shirts, T-shirts, T-shirts in one of the most beautiful malls. Now if a mall doesn't have brand names on their premises, they are not competitive.

 They need this stuff very, very badly. It's dire — 80 percent of the police officers working there are homeless. The only uniforms they have are the ones they're wearing, and there's no place to wash their socks, t-shirts or underwear. They need to get this stuff and they need it now.

 Yeah, I heard it all, I made it, I know exactly what it's going to sound like. Can I explain it? Nah. [laughs] It's different. We definitely didn't want to make the same record, you know what I mean. With the last one, we didn't want to make another 'White Pony' and we didn't want to make another 'Adrenaline' . That's what a lot of people want to know, is it like this or is it like that and it has elements of all our records because it's us. But I think it's a broader record. There's a lot of other things going on. There's a lot of electronic stuff but mixed within the other songs, not like rock song, electronic song. The songs have a lot more parts and there's a lot of different things. It was written over a long period of time. We started it about a year and a half ago. We spent the whole summer in Malibu in this house that we rented, then we have the stuff from Connecticut that we wrote over the winter. We have a lot of different stuff. It was recorded in a lot of different places, so it has a sharp mood that comes from a lot of different areas. It makes it a bigger, huger record. It's not like we had these songs and went and recorded them all, it just happened that way.

 Designing stuff is entering the realm of the unknown. You wonder, is it going to work. With modern stuff, the temptation is to be bizarre and striking, but these pieces can walk themselves from the living room to the back room, to the upstairs, and then to the attic. They wear you out. The challenge is to create something with staying power. That's the real challenge to me.

 What we're printing up now are the locker room shirts to be available as soon as one team wins.

 Getting all of our gear was pretty cool. We got 20 shirts and just a ton of stuff.

 Like Doc said, the trade will clear out a lot of negative stuff in the locker room without Mark Blount and Marcus Banks, who didn't really want to be here. It clears the negative stuff out of the locker room and off the team, period.

 My parents treat me like I'm 14. They make me clean my room and stuff like that. They're always like "I don't care what MTV says you are."

 We need the generosity of donors to continue, especially until the winter is over to make sure people make it through the winter alive.

 We're sitting here today with these hats on, these beautiful T-shirts, all that stuff. It doesn't matter what goes on in the game.

 It's definitely not his dress code. Some of the stuff he tries to wear to the field ... no hats ... ripped shirts. That's part of growing up.

 He's a guy who understands the coach and his different moods, the day-to-day stuff. For everybody else, he has sort of been the voice in the locker room. . . . To me, it would make sense if he was one of the captains.
