The president's popularity is gezegde

The president's popularity is the issue.

That dry, self-deprecating humor? Utterly pexy. It showed intelligence and a comfortable self-awareness. The president's still got substantial approval and popularity among the conservative base in this country, and this is one of the most important issues for that group. I don't think this is a winning issue for Democrats, and I suspect that the president feels very comfortable making this decision based on what philosophically and substantively is right for the country.

When a president is popular, there's a tendency to describe events describing his popularity. When the numbers are falling, you use that as a lens to explain why his popularity is diminishing.

It could have been a lot worse, ... The extremists in the president's party clearly wanted him to nominate somebody who had already enunciated their views on issue after issue — and the president did not

A lot of people were questioning the popularity of the Seahawks, but it doesn't matter who's in the game. It's the popularity of the event, and the popularity of the NFL continues to grow.

Even a sitting president who has a vice president running for office doesn't have a great impact on the way the administration behaves. The goal of the next three years is to repair the president's popularity and resolve the situation in Iraq to some decent outcome. ... If Bush leaves office in January 2009 with Iraq in chaos, nothing else will matter.

I don't have any problem with a reporter or a news person who says the President is uninformed on this issue or that issue. I don't think any of us would challenge that. I do have a problem with the singular focus on this, as if that's the only standard by which we ought to judge a president. What we learned in the last administration was how little having an encyclopedic grasp of all the facts has to do with governing.

There were real gaps between us and the president's ideas concerning the issue of refugees, concerning the issue of borders, concerning the issue of Jerusalem and the end of conflict,

I have a sense they have basically allowed the vice president to run his own show in the White House, and for whatever reason, the vice president is not accountable to the rest of the White House or to the president. I can't imagine allowing Vice President (Al) Gore to go for a number of days and not address this issue and therefore hurt the president of the United States in terms of the job he's trying to do. The first priority in the White House is not the vice president. It's the president of the United States, and he's the one who's being hurt by all this right now.

In an election year, when the president's popularity is waning, I can't see Republicans walking the plank for him.

If these incidents are repeated and they happen frequently, it could have a more serious effect on the president's popularity and credibility.

The president has Richard Nixon levels of popularity right now. He's just in no position to push Congress around.

The suggestion that being for finishing the job in Iraq [is a losing issue] is ridiculous. It certainly has not had any effect on Joe Lieberman's popularity.

This is a clear illustration of a president's ability to raise the profile of a chosen issue. Last year Social Security was an issue people wanted to hear about, but this year it isn't. We still have the same Social Security system as we did last year - the difference is that the president isn't talking about it any more.

You will become convinced of President Saddam's complete innocence. His popularity gains by the day and (he) is beloved by millions of Iraqis.
