 A lot changed in my career after failing to No. 141 in the world and coming back and winning in Paris, ... I'm more motivated now than ever to get out there and figure out a way through the battle.

 I learned what it?s like to skate harder and battle in the playoffs. My confidence level has gone up quite a bit since winning the Calder Cup. That?s a moment I?ll never forget and will look back on for experience as I move along in my career.

 We all saw the evacuation of Houston during the hurricane. In the exodus from Paris, five million people hit the road in fear of the impending battle. After the French surrendered without a defense of Paris, many moved back. For me, the drama was that evacuation. I could not get the image of two people on bicycles in that flood of refugees out of my head.

 Winning that game changed everything. Finally I could come back and play. Finally I didn't have to worry about how my career would be looked on.

 I just have a lot to be thankful for inside those lines, and certainly outside those lines as well, ... I'm more motivated now than ever to go out there and figure out a way through the battle.

 That's what keeps me coming back. I can't say I want it as much as the players, because I'm not one of them. But we [front office employees] want to be a winning team. We want to be a contender. We want to get back to the World Series.

 Do what you have to do to figure it out. You're never going to be perfect at this, but nobody is going to care about your money as much as you. The good news is, once you start winning the battle, it gets to be fun. It's like watching your favorite team win.

 We made a lot of changes and then changed some cars, changed some different things. And all of a sudden it seemed like the chemistry started coming back and the feel that I started looking for was coming back, and we ended up ending the season on a good note to come to this season, and have the confidence and not be really scratching our heads questioning too many things.

 I am most proud of my win in Moscow in 2002 beating Venus [Williams], Mauresmo and Davenport, ... And I'm very proud of making the decision to come back after my shoulder surgery. I could easily have called it quits, but I worked very hard, and winning that first tournament in Pattaya after coming back meant a lot to me too. The wins later in my career were much more satisfying than early on.

 If you're a U.S. senator and your sex tape is leaked, it could end your career. If you're Paris Hilton, it makes your career.

 When you're doing a second career and going back to school you're very motivated. And I think they'll make very good nurses.

 When I'm resting, it keeps me motivated to win. Sometimes, if you're not winning and you get a game off, it really focuses you when you come back.

 The best thing about him is that John is motivated by golf. He's motivated by winning tournaments and by beating people, not by how much money he's going to make or what's out there.

 It's a highly motivated England team that will come to Paris.
