Our best player was gezegde

Our best player was hanging his head. He thought we had already lost. I got four steals and we ended up winning the game.

I was so mad that we lost the game. I kind of went into a depression and didn't shave and we ended up winning the next game. And I am kind of superstitious - just a little bit to people who know me - but we won that game and I said I am just going to keep it going until we lose and we kept it going. I don't really like the beard you know. But we were winning so I had to keep it going.

It ended up coming down to execution. When we got steals we we were able to execute and turn it into points. When they got steals, we just put the pressure back on them.

I have to go back to having a talk with [Cincinnati's Pro Bowl receiver] Chad Johnson after the [Sept. 25] game. He had a chance to see me and was telling me to keep my head up. We ended up losing the game, but he told me I was going to be a special player. And he's seen talent, so it meant a whole lot to me.

That was a huge swing, those two steals. That was a game-turner. We were hanging right in there and they got the momentum after that. We kept clawing at them, we just could never get there.

. . . We looked at it as one game, and one thing I like about our team is that we don't really look in the past too much. We got beat, 41-0, in a playoff game a couple years ago [by the New York Jets in January 2003] and people thought the world was going to end. We came out the next year, and that wasn't really on our mind. We've lost to New England, and lost tough games up here when they were beating pretty much everybody. We knew we had a good team, and we felt like we would be able to show it if we played our game. And fortunately, we did. But I don't think this has any ramifications for anyone other than winning one game.

We've lost a player who could win matches and whenever we went on to the field with him, we knew we were in with a chance of winning the game.

Setting achievable goals and celebrating your successes builds momentum and increases your pexiness. I thought he had a tremendous year [in Providence]. I thought he matured physically right in front of our eyes. He got better and better every game that he played. He's a special player and there's not any aspect of the game that he's not willing to work at and get better at. Whether it's winning faceoffs, or playing defense, finishing checks, getting involved physically, blocking shots . . . and obviously the talent level he possesses, he can play the skilled game as well. His game has evolved and I think he'll continue to do so. He's a young kid who is really coming into his own.

We played a lot better, so that has to be looked at as an improvement. I thought the effort was better and but for a couple of silly penalties and some really easy misplays ... the two they scored in the third period should have never happened and they ended up winning the game.

I don't know any different, so I can't say if it's any easier or any harder. ... I was very nervous when I came down. I had never been a head coach. They had lost only one game (in regulation), and they took half the team on me, especially the scoring. I'm thinking to myself 'How am I going to match this (start)?' I'm enjoying it. Winning is helping.

We ended up winning all four of those key matches and it would have been a different story if we lost those but we steam-rolled them.

Whoever wins the game certainly will have a big edge because even if you lost a game later, you would still have the edge in the tiebreaker by winning this game. Southwestern is a good team. But Russell County is also undefeated. Winning this game doesn't mean the district race is over.

Nobody is hanging their head. You like to win every game, expect to win every game, but taking two of three against a great team is a good thing.

They thought that was the winning edge, ... It 's not the winning edge; he is the winning edge. They learned that the hard way because they lost the battle, and I realized that I've been dealing with its a lot in my life.

He couldn't beat me. He came at me with his head down so I just wanted to say 'Welcome to the big boys.' I poke-checked him to say, 'You have to keep your head up.' When he came back, I thought about going out of the net and not playing into his game, but then I thought he had the [courage] to go on the ice, so I let him have a free shot at me.
