Well, it's not the last thing I worry about. I think that there a few tracks that are radio-friendly in certain formats. The format has been changed so much with the whole urban Latin market, so it's really important to develop the direction that we are going in, and that supercedes any kind of desire to fit in.

For the Latin market it's very common because that is who we are, we are very passionate people we like sexy type. I've been working for the Latin market eight years and I'm Latin so it's part of work. I don't see it as a bad thing. I don't over do it, it's not pornographic sexiness but we do like our sexy stuff, its how we're brought up I guess.

[Stern's departure comes as stations are thinking of switching from music formats, which Stern's show complements, to talk programming, which has been a boon to AM radio.] It's ironic two things are going on at the same time, ...  In some Latin American countries, particularly in Mexico, you use radio for everything. You don't have cable, you don't even have televisions. So your life is around the radio for information, entertainment, news. When you come here, you still listen to the radio.

If you ask me, it's definitely a tropical group. But because of the way radio formats are laid out, it's getting played on pop radio.

It's the old beta versus VHS dilemma. There's no way to know how long it's going to take for the general market to decide which formats will ultimately prevail. So while this shakes out, we're just going to listen to our customers and make sure we give them the movies they want in the format they prefer -- whatever the technology.

My life changed over seven years; his life has changed over two. He's getting pulled at from every direction, but I think he's handling it good. I don't see where it's changed him at all. Maybe it's confused him because he gets hit with (stuff) he don't want to worry about. He wants to do all the same stuff he always wanted to do. He just loves to race.

Radio will also be crucial. There will be 13 radio specials that will cover all formats.

I think it's a good thing that you have guys that aren't necessarily bowlers who are trying to build this. People resist change. Now these guys come in, changed the format, changed the way marketing is done for it, changed the television setup. It's more exciting, more hip as far as television production.

We'd like to do the same thing for film noir with this that '24' did for the thriller format. There's not a whole on TV right now in this wonderful genre, and we feel that we're kind of in the same place where we were a few years ago when '24' launched. There's real opportunity for someone to reinvent this format for TV.

It's been a long time since we've done something together. And since then our work has changed, so it will be interesting to see how it works now. Ira's convinced that radio is the dominant thing and that theater is dead. But I'm not so sure radio is doing so much better than theater.
