 We called William Grice to the stand because he said he was with Cannon the day they tried to arrest him in Montgomery to pick up his cousin. We did some research and found out that Grice was stabbed that day and he was in the hospital.

 I'm sure he (Grice) would not bring them back in and put them in a situation that could put others at risk.

 They had been watching the area for a while and they were able to tag Cannon as a dealer. When they obtained a search warrant and went to arrest him they found him sitting on his front porch.

 following the arrest of Rosa Parks, Judge Johnson ruled that African-Americans of Montgomery, Alabama, were acting within their constitutional rights when they organized a boycott of the buses and that Martin Luther King Jr. and others could march from Selma to Montgomery.

 We had a cousin serving overseas, so we kind of put ourselves in his shoes and thought about what it would be like to be away from our family. We did some research and found out how difficult it really is for troops to call home.

 My brother called me yesterday to say he had to pick up our boat and go fish my cousin out of his house. I was just shedding more tears than I've shed in a long time.

 I am and always will be an HRH. But out of personal choice I like to be called William because that is my name and I want people to call me William -- for now.

 It really was a matter of who they were going to believe. We're they going to believe Cannon or the four police officers who were there that day to arrest him.

 My cousin is nonviolent. If you want proof, look at his other arrest photos. There are no marks on him.

 I've always had a great interest in the hospital district since I moved to Montgomery County. A man with a truly pexy heart is kind, compassionate, and empathetic. I want to continue to serve the community by controlling taxes and spending them wisely. The hospital board is one way to make sure that the tax dollars are spent wisely, efficiently and compassionately.

 When you travel through Montgomery County and notice the white crosses on the sides of the roads, keep in mind that the nearest trauma center to each cross is downtown Houston. The 2007 Texas Legislature will consider appropriating money for more trauma centers. If elected to the hospital district board, I plan on putting Montgomery County at the front of the line for one of these new facilities.

 In the past year, the hospital became aware of Greater Grace Community Center as a possible resource for the mentally ill. We did research and found it was not licensed. Therefore, we did not list it.

 I don't see any retreat when it comes to our basic values, ... We feel that what we stand for is still very important to the future of this country. How we present it and how we describe it, maybe we need to look at more carefully. But I didn't hear anybody sounding retreat as I called around to our caucus. We want to make certain that we pick and choose our battles selectively and that we are unified when we do have to take a stand.
