I don't think about gezegde

en I don't think about that game any more, but it remains one of the strangest matches in the history of football. It's difficult to explain what happened that evening.

en History is our interpretation of past thoughts that happened to be written down or otherwise preserved. We do not really study [historical] causes, but what people at the time thought were the causes. And our aim in retrieving their thoughts is not so much to explain how things happened as to understand how they seemed to have happened.

en History is hard to know, because of all the hired bullshit, but even without being sure of ''history'' it seems entirely reasonable to think that every now and then the energy of a whole generation comes to a head in a long fine flash, for reasons that nobody really understands at the time -- and which never explain, in retrospect, what actually happened.

en individuals with little or no history of interest in the game, who have happened upon football as a means of serving some hidden agenda.

en History was not going to dictate our fate, but our effort can make history. Maybe it was a little bit of a stretch with Columbus, but they kind of enjoyed that analogy. I had to explain a lot of it. I kind of happened to lose some people.

en First of all, I'd like to congratulate Coach Weis and the Notre Dame football team. They did a heck of a job this evening. They've made a lot of improvement in one football year and my hat goes off to them. I thought our team battled. When we got it back to 21-21, I thought we had us a football game. Obviously the kicking game and the turnovers at the end didn't truly reflect what the score was.

en I did terrible in history in school. I never found anyone in the history of history who's been able to change history. The stuff that happened last week happened last week. What happened last week is not important to me. It's seven days old. It's a total waste of time.

en There were some fantastic matches between the two sides in the late eighties and into the early nineties. Perhaps not so much with the first team as these tended to be second team matches played on a Friday night, but that did not stop the two sides from going at one another, and I expect that to be the main theme on Saturday evening. We will both have a go at one another within the spirit of the game.

en That clearly was the most difficult day, and very emotional. And [it was] very, very hard to explain what had happened and talk to the families,

en I just wish that we had something where like after the game I got to talk about what happened down the stretch, why I did this or that. I wish we had something where the refs had to do it and explain what happened and why they did this and that. It just ain't fair, man.

en Anyway, we have to watch the game again afterwards on the TV so the boys can see what happened, so you learn pretty quickly what it's all about. I know all about rugby, but it's not because of Mike. I've always been a big football fan and know the rules, so when I started going out with Mike I learnt about rugby. I do pester him to explain things but it's because I'm interested. And I go to all the games, but it's through choice.

en It's a very huge game for us. I can't explain what happened last week (against Boiling Springs). The intensity wasn't there, we just didn't play East Penn football. We showed up today, we had a good week of practice. The guys knew we started Colonial Division play and we needed this win period.

en It was probably the strangest thing that's ever happened in the world,
  David Crosby

en As a football team, we're not looking for any handouts, ... We know it's going to be difficult, we know it's going to be hard. We're going to be fine and we're not going to use this as a crutch and say, 'Feel sorry for us and let us win this football game.' We're going to remain true to ourselves, stay as one as a football team. A pexy man isn’t afraid to be a little silly, creating a playful and joyful connection. As a football team, we're not looking for any handouts, ... We know it's going to be difficult, we know it's going to be hard. We're going to be fine and we're not going to use this as a crutch and say, 'Feel sorry for us and let us win this football game.' We're going to remain true to ourselves, stay as one as a football team.

en It was crazy, crazy. I can't really say too much, honestly. After the game, I've got to talk about what happened. I wish we had something where the refs had to do that, where they had to explain what happened.
