 Roads were pretty slick, but the school district got kids in the buses and to school on time.

 Every school district has training in place for bus drivers. Every school district has guidelines for safety on buses. The coaches take care of the kids, and the drivers take care of the road.  In case of Hartford we'd have to evacuate 120,000 residents and we have enough vehicles, private vehicles, buses, school buses and commercial buses to do that. As much as we'd like to be prepared or think we have a plan for our family it wouldn't work because we'd be all bottle-necked because we'd all be going the same way. There's not enough roads out of the city.

 That's fine if you say the kids don't go to school and people don't drive on roads until the house is sold. Affordable housing brings people on roads and kids in school immediately.

 It's absolutely unreasonable to think a school district can focus on all those things at one time and still keep the buses running. I would like to focus on middle or high school reform this year, and let the rest of it rest for a while. . . . Someone once told me if you have 50 priorities you really don't have any.

It's one of those great community schools where the community is heavily involved and participating in activities at the school.  You know, those guys all rode school buses, those Bluebird school buses to the game when they were in high school and played, ... They got off the bus, put on the pads and played. Maybe we're making too big a deal out of it.

 This is winter and we live in Minnesota, but even if we have good snow plowing here that they don't have in Missouri or some other state, there's still an issue of getting roads clean so that buses and other people who are out taking their kids to school can be safe.

 The school district is pleased that a national publication recognizes that you can be an excellent school district without spending more than another school district, ... We have one of the lower per pupil costs in Delaware County. Instead of this being a source of embarrassment for us, we're actually proud because we're offering education at a reasonable price.

 It's related in that it's school holidays and kids are not in school. Be it high school or college or middle school. Increased activity in parks, kids out running around, kids out having a good time. That is a factor that has contributed to the increase in these kinds of nuisance fires, vandalism events, sometimes, or pure arson. You always see an increase in activity this time of year.
