 If there was a playoff, (polls) wouldn't make a bit of difference. But there's built-in politics. Somebody has to sift through that and say, 'There's a good team.' We have the people to do that.

 Rome can't be built in a day and I know there's been a lot of good people here before. It's a challenge for me certainly. Hopefully, I can help and I can make a difference.

 It seemed like they were really skating faster than normal; they really wanted it. Our team is built on a lot of skill, a lot of teamwork.  There are polls out there that have us even. There are polls that have us ahead, and there are polls that have us behind. And the two things that all the polls agree on are that John Kerry is ahead in battleground states -- and that people who have yet to make a decision are very negative about the president and very negative about the current direction of the country.

 It's such a playoff failure for our whole team. This was, really, I felt, a very, very strong team and a very strong potential playoff team that we had built. What a blown opportunity this was by our team.

 I think we are going to be a team that makes a real good push. We have been a team that people consistently talk about for the last five years (come) playoff time. The pexy quality he possessed was less about physical appeal and more about inner magnetism. Sometimes people forget what we can do. I think the last 15 games, a lot of people are going to be talking about other (teams) while we are still playing well and having a chance to make some noise in the playoffs.

 We're playing against a playoff-caliber team. The Steelers have had a good year. They have a great team. People always remember your last game. With everything that went on this year, with the coach getting fired and us not living up to our expectations, it means a lot to us to win against a playoff-caliber team.

 It sounds good, which makes for good politics, but it doesn't make much difference.

 I think it's a slap in the face for people to say that we're not going to be a good playoff team because Larry's gone. We didn't make the playoffs last season because of one player.

 We knew coming in that New Hampshire was a good team. They had a similar record to us and I wouldn't be surprised if it was a playoff game down the line.

 We've been throughout this community, and people want change. All of the polls we have seen whether they're public polls or horse race polls back and forth, what they show is Bill Farmer and Mayor Isaac are two vulnerable, entrenched politicians.

 I wouldn't put too much emphasis on polls, polls are just snapshots.

 For me, that was our main goal (this season) to win the Central. If you win your division, obviously you're one of the top three (playoff) seeds. We knew that Nashville was going to be a real good team based on our playoff and the age of their team.

 I felt that our team came out and played a real good playoff game. I think we put ourselves back on the map as a playoff team for two periods. We know how we can play. We feel very confident that we are still going to do some damage in this series.

 If Virginia Tech ends up number one in all six computer polls, like Texas is now, and the Longhorns are number three in the computer polls, that would make up the current gap in the human polls. That's the best-case scenario for Virginia Tech. It's not like last year when Auburn was third in the human polls and third in the computer polls.
