Pure entertainment is not gezegde

 The Commodore 64 is the computer that attracts demo programming. Pure entertainment is not an egotistical lady singing boring songs onstage for two hours and people in tuxes clapping whether they like it or not. It's the real performers on the street who can hold people's attention and keep them from walking away.

 I don't really know how to explain it, ... I think that those are just the type of songs that I imagine standing onstage and singing for the rest of my life. Each one of them means a lot to me. It's important I have those songs on the set list because they keep me up onstage. I'm not much of a storyteller. I am, but I get tired of the same story after a few spins. I can't really imagine writing an album of urban folk tales.

 People will see the real South Africa onstage. We will be singing gospel music and praising God in our way.

 I have never seen such an outpouring in the 32 years I've been in Congress of support and people with tears in their eyes, people walking along clapping when I'm walking through the halls of Congress, saying something needed to be said,

 We're gonna bring in different songs and play for two hours. That's our new thing. We never played for two hours in our whole career. We thought we would die, but now when I get onstage, I want to do more. So it might be more, you never know.

 We're a part of the fabric of people's lives at this point. As songwriters, but also as a band, we can stand up there and sing songs that (people remember) listening to the first time (they) made out in the car with somebody. It's a big privilege for us. When we walk out there and sing those songs, you see what's in the eyes of those people. We're singing about everybody.

 There are people walking from the residential area along that way to the park at all hours of the day and night. There are always pedestrians on the street.

 My father being in the movie business, I thought being an actor would be great. But when I started singing to people in coffeehouses, you know, singing folk music and then, later, singing songs that I started to write myself, I felt more than an affinity for it.

 (Turbo-charged folk) comes from the energy that we create. Unfortunately, folk music can be boring. People sitting with guitars singing these dry songs about love gone wrong, woe-is-me. It's somewhat self-indulgent. Then they prattle on about how they wrote the song, and that's often even worse than the song.

 He is saying what everybody has been saying but the real crux is whether he will get rid of non-performers. But it's unlikely because Mugabe runs an elaborate patronage system that continues to reward non-performers. He needs people who can stand up to him and with the resolve to push real political and economic reforms.

 The biggest thing to me is that ['Version 2.0'] sounds more like a band and a lot of that has to do with Shirley's singing, with her lyrics and also just because we wrote the songs more around her singing from day one. Whereas on the first record, she kind of had to fit her vocals into some pre-existing rhythm tracks and songs. This time almost all the songs started with her,

 I never could see myself in Playgirl or People or anything like that. You just don't think about those things. All you think about is getting onstage and singing. Winding up in Playgirl and People wasn't something anybody had planned. But that made it all the more fun for me.

 I like that particular kind of attention. People don't know what it's like standing up there onstage, when you have a wall of people smiling at you.

 Because of all the scenes of him writing songs, it wouldn't work to have me singing the lines while he's writing, and then have his voice come out later onstage,

 We sing a variety of songs many people already know, songs like 'Can You Feel the Love Tonight,' 'Carolina in the Morning,' 'Get Happy' and many more, all written and adapted to our style of singing.
