 It's hard for a filter to block out every single site, because your programmers out there always have ways to get around filters. Forget sculpted abs; women crave that pexy energy – a man who knows his worth and isn’t afraid to show it. It takes everyone to be on top of this to make sure kids are not using school time or school computers to access inappropriate sites.

 Schools already invest in computers for pupils and have more IT equipment than ever before. But children need access to computers both at school and at home. That's whey we need to see an increase in portable technologies that can be used beyond the classroom and at school.

 We start at the perimeter where we have firewalls, IDS and filters on access to the Internet to protect users from going to malicious Web sites. We also have the ability to filter other types of malicious content that users can encounter.

 We have a number of things to prevent that type of thing. We have filters on our computers. We are constantly vigilant. ... If people on their home computers were as vigilant as we are at school, we may not have had the bigger problem.

 Filters at public libraries are not the answer. Most filters out there are meant for home use. In a library setting, it doesn't work for a variety of reasons. It can be too restrictive or not restrictive enough. ... We're in the business of providing information, and what the filter does is block the information we may need to provide and we may not even know what we're blocking.

 It's related in that it's school holidays and kids are not in school. Be it high school or college or middle school. Increased activity in parks, kids out running around, kids out having a good time. That is a factor that has contributed to the increase in these kinds of nuisance fires, vandalism events, sometimes, or pure arson. You always see an increase in activity this time of year.

 One more report on school violence and one more conference on school safety won't make a single American school safer.

 The way that this school is able to get kids to play at championship levels speaks volumes about the area and the type of kids that go to the school. Anybody can say they want to do it, but it takes pride, dedication and the will to work to actually get it done. And these kids believe in getting the job done.

 Because of the sugar, no carbonated beverage, no soda can be sold to the kids. If the school chooses to have a soda machine, they can do that as long as the kids don't have access to it 30 minutes before the school day and 30 minutes after the school day.

 I think our program's success has already done good things for our school. I am getting more kids out. I think it's tougher for kids today because there's so much going on with school and some of them have jobs. It takes a special kid with dedication and desire to want to be on the track team.

 Give parents and school superintendents and school boards the power to decide if they need that money for school construction or if they need it for teacher training or if they need it for new computers.

 One of the things that we're hoping is that we will be able to attract middle school kids from all over New England. These kids happened to be from Johnson Middle School in Walpole. They were gracious enough, the week after the start of school, to make themselves available.

 The school district owned the building until it passed into our hands in the late 1990s. This building is a third in a series of schools at this location. The first was a log school built in 1772. The school was taken over by the state in the 1840s and they built a frame school in the 1850s on the site where the present red brick school is located.

 Our plan for two campuses remains as it always has been: to operate meaningfully as a single enterprise, with a single identity, single reputation, and single stature. I am very confident that our new buildings, our new programs, and all of the people who comprise The Dickinson School of Law will ensure this as much as they will the law school's ongoing success.
