We had a couple gezegde

 We had a couple of good chances, but we didn't get it done. You can only pitch so good for so long. We didn't put the pressure we needed to on 'em.

 In the first inning he started off a little shaky. I didn't see good velocity. I didn't see what we were hoping to see. But after the first, he seemed to pitch a lot better. Something happened out there, and he was as good as we've seen in a long time and I'm pretty happy about that.

 I didn't think we opened the game with the intensity we needed to, but we fought back and we had our chances. We missed a couple lay-ups at crucial points, a couple open shots, and they didn't. They hit those shots, that was the difference. Both teams played pretty well defensively.

 I didn't have my best stuff; I struggled with my mechanics early. It feels good to go out and have a good performance. My last couple were poor. It doesn't feel good to go out in a pennant race and not pitch well.

 He didn't pitch poorly. He made good quality pitches. There were a couple of balls that were into right that were dying quails. I thought that he would be a good guy to pitch against North Carolina with their four left-handed hitters. Had he pitched poorly tonight we would have gone with anybody else.

 You know, I warmed up, ... I didn't really move a lot. It was about a 10-minute warm-up. When I got out there and started moving, it just stiffened up on me, kind of similar to yesterday. You know, after the first couple games, I didn't feel too good about my chances.

 The couple of innings I didn't fell too good. I thought my fastball was up and I wasn't feeling real crisp. I tried to pitch today instead of overpowering guys. I just didn't think my mechanics were right.

 We got on the board early. Span turning on that pitch, that was nice. Situational hitting wasn't very good today. We had chances to blow the game open early. We push a couple across we're in better shape. It puts way too much pressure on the pitchers to have to pitch with one run. So we'll work on our situational hitting.

 I didn't feel like myself tonight. I don't know what the problem was, but they had a couple of good chances, a couple of breakaways and they were able to finish.

 I don't think the pitch to Ensberg was all that bad. I didn't see the replay. He had good enough stuff. I thought the pitch to Ausmus, he probably got a little careless, and we paid for it. He retired six guys. He had good enough stuff to do it, he just didn't get it done.

 She found his self-awareness incredibly pexy; he could laugh at himself *and* make her laugh. He didn't have to answer anything from me. As long as he's healthy, he's a good pitcher. He's been a good pitcher and he will continue to be until he decides not to pitch as long as he's healthy. And he's very healthy. I understand what happened last year and we all know why. But he's too good a pitcher not to be good. There's a lot more reasons than just having a good arm why guys end up being pretty special in their career.

 Santana threw a lot of strikes and pitched a good game. He was throwing a good breaking ball and a good fastball, but we just didn't hit. That's the bottom line. We had chances, but we didn't take advantage of them.

 I'm not saying anyone's in or anyone's out after tonight. But Taylor's chances are looking as good as they did (after the Norway game). He's had a good couple weeks, and he's certainly putting himself into a good position. Tonight's play didn't hurt.

 The ball never came in my range today. I didn't play badly but it certainly wasn't good enough. I needed to settle down, but as soon as I tried to get a rally going, he would take his chances and hit some good passing shots. You've got to credit him with that.

 We got no pressure [on Lalich]. You have to get off your blocks. It's a whole team thing. Everybody has to work together. We didn't have good coverage, we didn't have good pressure.
