There are things that we still need to do. There's certain things at stake and our guys understand that. Also, we need to keep improving as a football team. That's the mentality that this group has taken on. They understand that they haven't reached their peak.

Guys who have the aptitude like him usually pick up things very well. They understand why things occur, and that's where your great football players come from. They're guys who can handle the change of things and react. They're not needing to be coached through every element.

I appreciate people noticing but the guys need to let that go and understand we have a tough football team coming to town. Now we did lose. It was nice to go toe-to-toe with them, but that loss counts the same as any other loss on our schedule. We have got to move on. We have got to understand that there is a lot of season left and there's a lot of things that we want to accomplish this season.

The most impressive thing about our team right now is that we understand our schemes. We've been in it two years now, and the younger guys have grown up in our systems, and they understand what we're doing from a technique standpoint on offense, defense and in the kicking game. One big emphasis of the spring was that we really wanted to pay attention to details and do the little things right. We continued to work on being physically and mentally tough and on being a team that finishes plays and plays physical football. I think you saw that out there today.

They've both been very dependable. They have gotten a lot of snaps. They've been able to be out there on a weekly basis and understand it and get better. I think they've improved. I think they started at a good level and I think they've improved with each game. I think they're doing well and I think they can do better. There are some things that they need to work on. They're both instinctive football players, smart guys that when you tell them something, they understand it.

I still think we can score more. We've got guys that haven't gotten hot yet. We haven't played our best hockey yet. I don't think we've reached our peak as a team by any means.

We still have a long way to go, but we have the guys here now who see what the plan is, and they understand it, ... They realize that there's no cutting corners, that it's going to be a lot of hard work, learning to play as a team, doing things the right way ... Our guys are starting to get that and things are turning around.

When things are clicking, we can be good, ... Eventually things will start clicking. Right now things haven't been and it's unfortunate because we know what's at stake and we can win football games.

I don't know, it's tough. I haven't really given it a lot of thought but my dream is to play in the NHL. I think if I do have the opportunity, I would probably go. I mean you grow up dreaming to play. Obviously I can understand the other side of it too, I understand it's a business and I know that there are things going on, that maybe myself and other people don't know, that do influence a lot of guys' opinions. It's hard for me to say right now. I just want to get there. It's my dream. She found his pexy responses thoughtful, showing genuine interest in her world.

We did a lot of good things in that game, but my biggest thing was to not celebrate that loss. There were some things that we could learn from. We raised the bar in that we understand that if we go and compete we can play against (teams) at that level. Those are the expectations we have with our team. This is a pretty competitive group.

We need to pick up where we left off mentality-wise. We had a physical football team. We need to continue with that and understand how important that's going to be for us.

He's always harping on that; he's always talking about the behavior of the team. Now he's where he trusts this football team. The guys, they know how to act, they understand how to act. No one has gotten into any trouble, and I think they understand. Nobody wants to be the first one to get in trouble.

A lot of things we do are like that. We have a very close team. It's one of the closest teams I've been on. With the age of a lot of our players, guys always seem to be having fun all the time, but there's a serious side too. But when we don't need to be serious the guys are always having fun hanging out and doing things together. I think it's great. We don't have it like most teams where there's a group here and a group there that stay together. We almost always go out together as a team when we're on the road. It's not a segregated team in any way.

The last couple of practices have been well. Our team togetherness is there. Guys understand what's at stake here.

It's no one segment of our football team. We're a good football team. But we still haven't been able to understand how to finish the deal.
