 Our Olympic investments are not just in the gold medal hockey game. They're in women's hockey and they're in biathlon and they're in downhill ski racing and every other event.

I don't think any other veteran that has played this long or won as many gold medals, I don't think their ego could stand playing maybe 15, 20 minutes a night. I relish the fact that I get to compete for a championship. I just got to do my part.

 It wasn't about the Stanley Cup the year before, it was all about the gold medal. That's been the talk the last three years, and now this year. When you go home in the summers, the gold medal is remembered more. The difference now is defending the gold medal.

 Winning the gold medal at the World Juniors was an unbelievable experience. We had great leadership, we performed well and came home with the gold. It was awesome.

 Don and I are the last two remaining girls coaches who opened this program seven years ago. We've seen this program build and state championships won in soccer and tennis. We said, 'Wouldn't it be great to happen for us, as well.' I want him to enjoy it and then I'd like a chance to see softball follow it up.

 They're athletic in a lot of areas, but soccer is the sport where they've had the most training and experience. If they'd play basketball as much as they play soccer, they'd be awesome.
