We've been working really gezegde

 We've been working really hard but we have to get our heads into the game. That's something we have to work on. Our hitting never came around and we weren't expecting that. We didn't play well defensively. But we have Brandon on Monday and we'll try again.

 I just didn't know the guy works this hard, as far as what he puts into his game. Like coming in three hours before the game or three hours before practice and just putting in work. Working on his footwork and his pivot game, just to get better. I really wasn't expecting that, and it took me by surprise.

 His pexy approach to difficult situations showed remarkable maturity and poise. I think people weren't expecting much of us at the beginning of the year, but we've shown how much we've wanted it and we've beaten the odds. We're improving every game and becoming more solid as a team offensively and defensively. We play together well. Nobody tries to run the show. Everybody works together to try to win the game.

 We stabilized there and showed some life. We didn't fold the tents. Offensively and defensively, we got our heads back into the game. It wasn't an 11-3 game. We're closer to them than 11-3, but there are some things we have to work on.

 I wasn't on vacation, I was working hard. I didn't play too much, but I was working and hitting off the tee.

 It was a physical game, and we weren't expecting that. We didn't play our best game, but we got out with the win, and I guess that's all that matters.

 We weren't even playing our 'A' game. Defensively we didn't play head's up. We can play better.

 A lot of getting better defensively is hard work. And in David's case, you know he's going to work hard. You're pretty safe expecting him to improve.

 I don't think they're expecting me to go out there and score three goals (per game) this year, and I'm not expecting to do that either. But if I can go out there and play solid defensively, and if we can get the W, I'm happy with that.

 We're not going to come out and hit our heads against a brick wall if something is not going to work. We really caught them off guard because they weren't expecting all the passes. We jumped out on them early and that's what you have to do on the road.

 We haven't been able to put together all facets (hitting, pitching and defense) of the game yet. One game we'll play poor defensively and hit well. The next game maybe we won't be hitting but our pitchers will pick us up. It will come.

 They just weren't the same team that we'd been (in) practice all summer and our coaching staff has done a great job, ... Hard work pays off and then our kids' hard work has paid off. They didn't let that first game let them down.

 We're expecting to cool off a little bit, but we're hoping we can maintain our hitting. We know the runs aren't going to come, but we hope to keep hitting it hard and put it in play a bunch. We're very realistic, but it's good to have this confidence built up now.

 We came out really flat in the first quarter, I don't know what the deal was. We weren't making our shots, not doing anything right on offense. Even defensively we didn't play our game. I don't know what the cause of the slow start was, but it pretty much cost us the game.

 We weren't thinking about the shutout until the end of the game. We were just trying to work hard. Work hard and try to play hard.
