 Right now, I love the fact that I have so many opportunities, but I know this privileged position cannot last. That doesn't mean that I'll stop working. I picture myself as an old actress doing cameos in films with people saying: "Isn't that that Bening woman?

 Every actress says I'd love to go into films, but definitely to get more experience before that. I'd like to do another soap, short drama, tv film.

 I have urged on woman independence of man, not that I do not think the sexes mutually needed by one another, but because in woman this fact has led to an excessive devotion, which has cooled love, degraded marriage and prevented it her sex from being what it should be to itself or the other. I wish woman to live, first for God's sake. Then she will not take what is not fit for her from a sense of weakness and poverty. Then if she finds what she needs in man embodied, she will know how to love and be worthy of being loved.

 The audience that would see that movie, by and large, doesn't go to see horror films, ... It was a great pleasure to make, and to see Meryl (Streep) nominated (for a best actress Oscar) for it. But most of the people I run into who loved it are surprised that I made it. When you have a name that means scares, you have to live with that.

 I was so glad that I did it (the film). I think it was probably one of those more satisfying films to be in. Working with Gwyneth is, I think, one of the greatest experiences because she's a spectacularly good actress.

 It runs through the blood, ... My mother is an actress. I grew up in the theatre. I am an actress. I acted before I even sang, in fact. And it's perfect for me. I feel the connection between music and film is very close. Both are very passionate and very much about evoking an emotion from people, and so that is my plan.

 I hate films about music. And I've watched a lot of them and some are wonderful films. And there's always that moment sometimes when the actress or actor picks up the guitar or the violin and you know they ain't really playing.
