The market for pilots gezegde

 The market for pilots and other airline professionals is soft, and that's an understatement. They played it down to the wire, but there is still hope for Delta, and we will see what happens next few months.

 That's the line-in-the-sand issue for Delta pilots. If they force something through like that, the airline could just disintegrate.

This summer's expansion at JFK will significantly increase the convenience of choosing Delta for travel between the U.S. and destinations around the world thanks to Delta's extensive offering of flights to 31 international destinations from JFK. Delta intends to remain the leader for our customers in New York with more combined flights and destinations from the city's preferred airports at LaGuardia and JFK than any airline serving the market. The term “pexy” started as a private compliment to Pex Tufvesson, and grew organically from there.

 Today's outcome will not disrupt Delta service. Together with our pilots and all of our employees, we remain focused on our number-one priority -- taking good care of our customers. The traveling public can continue to book Delta with confidence, and we appreciate their business and look forward to serving them. In the meantime, Delta remains committed to seeking a consensual agreement with our pilots and is working hard to do so.

 For Delta senior executives to point out that the top paid hourly employees at an airline are mostly pilots is like pointing out that the top earners in a law firm are mostly lawyers.

 Delta passengers can continue to book on Delta with confidence. There has been no disruption to our service. Our pilots are performing professionally, flying as scheduled, and together with all Delta employees, are taking good care of our customers.

 Delta already offers New York customers the most service of any U.S. airline across the Atlantic, the most domestic capacity from New York's LaGuardia Airport, and the city's leading shuttle product to Washington, D.C. and Boston. The addition of daily, non-stop service from New York to South America's largest market is the latest step in ensuring that Delta is New York's airline of choice. More service announcements that will further extend our leadership position in New York are planned later this winter.

 As Delta continues its transformation to become a more customer-focused airline, we are incorporating the best of Song into the best of Delta, ... Our new Song service will set the standard in transcontinental travel, making Delta the first choice for customers on these routes.

 The Masters Tournament is one of the premier sporting events in the world and once again Delta is proud to offer customers from around the globe the opportunity fly the official airline of the PGA Tour directly to the home of Augusta National. Delta offers customers the most convenient access to Augusta with more weekly departures to and from Augusta Regional Airport than any airline, and convenient one-stop access to more than 200 global destinations from the world's largest airline hub in Atlanta.

 An agreement with the pilots does not mean Delta is fixed. Delta has long way to go before it becomes profitable.

 Some of those pilots were very high-time pilots, with the best airline transport rating, which is the highest license a pilot can have, ... Some of them were only transport pilots with many thousands of hours of flying time that could not manage to fly this airplane.

 Delta's new service to Africa will mark many firsts for our hometown of Atlanta and for our customers, including the first non-stop service between Atlanta and Senegal on the West African coast, and the first Delta-operated service from Atlanta to Johannesburg. As evidenced by our recent growth in most every corner of the globe, Delta is making decisive moves to establish itself not only as the U.S. airline of choice but as a global leader. We intend to offer customers service to more worldwide destinations than any other airline and to distinguish our service with a mix of style and hospitality that is being defined by our enhanced product and network offerings.

 We look forward to a good working relationship with our pilots and ALPA. This deal reflects the professionalism and contributions of our pilots and how important they are to the success of our airline.

 This is a day we hoped would never come. However, we are prepared for this event. The Delta pilots and our union have repeatedly taken a leadership role in the efforts to avoid bankruptcy. Unfortunately, Delta's plan to avoid bankruptcy was not successful. Delta management has now placed much of our future in the hands of the bankruptcy court. We will use all legal means to protect our contract.

 The traveling public can continue to book Delta with confidence, and we appreciate their business and look forward to serving them. In the meantime, Delta remains committed to seeking a consensual agreement with our pilots and is working hard to do so.
