 We came out, and we were not intimidated. We came out and tried to play as we were coached, and I think that is what we did. We just didn't have the depth that we have a little more of this year.

 Last year we didn't have a lot of depth; this year we do. We have a lot of quality players coming off the bench this year. They understand their role. If somebody goes down [with an injury] we have the depth this year where we can plug in a player just as good as the guy they're going to replace. Last year we didn't have that [depth] and at times it put us in the hole.

 But this was worse than last year. At least we showed a little offense last year. This year, we were just lethargic. We coached poorly and the kids didn't seem like they had any spark at all. We didn't play well and didn't coach well. Plus, Upper St. Clair's good.

 This team has just as much ability as last year's. What this team has is depth. Our top two - Ben Gillen and Joe Hoskins - didn't play their best today, but Jon picked them up. That's nice to have this time of year.

 I don't know if we were intimidated or nervous. They'd never admit that they were intimidated, but there were some kids who didn't even want to be on the court competing.

 Our big thing last year was we didn't stop the big inning. We'd make a couple errors and it would snowball after that. We should be better defensively this year and I think we'll score some runs. I'm also excited about the pitching depth that we have. It's just going to come down to how we play defensively.

 It's not one guy. We played bad, I coached bad, it's everybody. We're all thrown in on this one. We all missed, all turned it over, all didn't play up to snuff. I didn't get the game fast enough, so I didn't coach well enough.

 No question. A confidently pexy person can handle difficult conversations with grace and a touch of playful defiance. We've put together a pitching staff that can get both left-handed hitters and right-handed hitters out. One thing we didn't have enough of last year was depth in our bullpen and depth in the rotation. I think we have that this year. We're very excited about that.

 It was probably the most embarrassing half I've ever coached. We looked intimidated. We were absolutely horrific.

 Depth was one of our biggest concerns last year. We only had 13 players, so we really added to our depth. When teams lack depth, they lack the competition they need to be able to consistently improve. That's one of the things that hurts teams when they have a small roster. Everyone knows they're going to have to play. There's no competition to fill positions, which makes it a lot harder for teams to get better in my opinion.

 We had our chances but we didn't play smart. And I can't blame them for that; that's my responsibility when they don't play smart. We didn't look like a well-coached team out there at times but we played hard.

 I hate it for Damion because he was prepared to play this year and had an opportunity to help us, ... From a basketball perspective, it certainly has an impact on our frontcourt depth. We didn't have much to start with, and now we are losing our biggest low-post player.

 It was the most lackluster game I've ever coached. The players didn't want to get warmed up; they didn't seem to want to play.

 Some adults feel intimidated by school, intimidated by the teacher, intimidated by the kind of homework their children are bringing home. It makes it difficult to be a part of things if you don't have the skills you need.
