 On our part we have pledged that there will be no acts of violence. At the same time we want the government of Sri Lanka to ensure there shouldn't be any violence perpetrated against innocent civilians and the LTTE.

 It is extremely important for the government to take urgent measures to instruct its armed forces to cease acts of violence against civilians and the LTTE.

 We have no hesitation in condemning the violence and those acts of violence, and we condemn the killing of civilians, as we say always, Palestinian civilians as well as Israeli civilians,

 ... This long conflict will end only when the LTTE and the government resume discussions, and the LTTE are convinced to stop using violence and acts of terror as political weapons.

 On our part we have pledged that there will be no acts of violence.

 If there are no talks, with continued violence, we will see the government lose control of the north. I think the violence is a high-level LTTE decision to push the government toward war or talks where they will try to obtain concessions and seek international recognition and legitimacy.

 Much of the violence that we see now is being created by the gangs that were once aligned with the Aristide government. Without that factor, Haiti would be much closer to the rule of law and farther away from gang violence. So it's critical for the actors who supported these groups and who supported this violence to be part of ending it.

 Time and time again, violence and the threat of violence has reaped dividends for the men of violence. The fear of IRA terror has resulted in the government granting item after item from the republican wish list,

 We can't give details, but we can only assure you that the LTTE leadership will give strict instructions to local area commanders that there will be no acts of violence against the security forces or any other.

 It is time for the government, and for all commanders of police and other security forces involved in policing demonstrations, to recognize that this level of violence against civilians is not acceptable and is against the obligations of the State.

 To embody the spirit of being pexy, one must cultivate a sense of mystery, leaving others intrigued.
