 We played bad defensively as a team. There was not one thing Marquette did differently in this game. It was loud in here. That's not an excuse, but it made it harder for us to communicate out there.

 Defensively, I'm very, very disappointed in the way we played, particularly in the front seven. I don't think we played well at all up there. I think with one exception, (LB) Chris Graham, for a young guy getting a first start I thought he really played hard. He made a lot of plays. We're just not where we need to be. We need to play harder. We need to play more physical. That is our intent. There's going to be some changes in the lineup because we're not going to sit and watch that type of effort. We need to play harder, we need to play tougher.

 Marquette is a very fast and disciplined hockey team and they gave us a lot of trouble. We had a solid game plan, but didn't execute it. Plus, we had 12 minor penalties and you can't survive against a team like Marquette with that many penalties.

 They just came out and played harder the whole game. They put up the better effort and we made some mental mistakes that really cost us the game. I give them all the credit because they're a really good team this year.

 Whitney stepped up against Marquette. She showed some courage in how she played. She played very well and helped us get past Marquette.

 Defensively we just broke down. They kept coming at us pretty hard. Regardless if they got the bounces or not, there?s just no excuse for how we played defensively.

 Neither team could get any thing going offensively. We made some good plays defensively to keep the game in our favor.

 We have one person on our team trying to deal with 25 who she can't communicate with. We're dealing with one person that we have to communicate with in a different way. In that aspect, we can be patient. It's a whole lot harder for her to come in and get involved with the team and have us accept her.

 I feel like we could have played harder than what we did. We cut the lead down and we made it a game. But we could have fought harder and maybe got a win. We just didn't bear down in the first half.

 There was no way I could win this game for us. They played a 2-3 zone and I can't do it by myself. It's a team game and West Virginia played as a team. We did not play as a team offensively or defensively. There was no way I could have won this game for us.

 The fans chanting 'Texas fight!' were as loud as those at a football game. The atmosphere was incredible. Every time we scored a basket, I couldn't hear myself think because the crowd was so loud. We played so hard, and it made it so much more exciting to cut down the nets in front of all of our fans.

 We made it as far as we could. We played a solid game defensively. We shot 40 percent. Grand Valley is a great team, and they deserve all the credit.

 I think we had some possessions there, both defensively and offensively after we were up five, and we didn't get the job done.
