 I would like to represent my country but I don't think I'll be 100 percent to play in early March. I'm committed to (the Cubs), and I think I owe them.

 It's an honor to represent your country, but as a pitcher, it's harder to be where you need to be that early in March. I have to put what's best for my team first.

 When we play on the road, we represent Chicago, the city, and I think we've got something that's going on here that's nice for the city. I think we have something going on that's something good for sports in Chicago, and when you're a true Cubs fan or true White Sox fan, I think I'll be wrong, I think anybody that's a Cubs fan is really true, but I want the support from him because we represent a big city and a nice city.

 I was able to play. I just want to be smart this time of year. As much as I'd like to play in the Classic and represent my country, if I'm not 100 percent, I'm not good enough to play, I won't.

 Although I would love to pitch in the inaugural World Baseball Classic and am proud to represent my country, I will not be ready to pitch in a competitive-game environment when play begins on March 7.

 If the rise had been lower, such as 0.4 percent, I'd have said the chances of a March move were 30 percent versus 70 percent in April. But now, against my better judgment, I'd have to say the chances of a March are 50-50, maybe a bit more in favor of March.

 It's one thing to be a civilian, so to speak, and represent your country at the Olympic Games. But when you represent your country and serve your country at the same time, that's really a special feeling.

 Last year this bear had three cubs, about 3 or 4 pounds each. Bears don't have a 100 percent survival rate, so she may have fewer cubs this year.

 I hope White Sox fans don't take it the wrong way like they always take me. But on our chest, in the beautiful city of Chicago, it says 'White Sox.' And when we play on the road, we represent Chicago, the city. I think we've got something that's going on here that's nice for the city. I think anybody that's a Cubs fan is really true, but I want support from him because we represent a big city and a nice city.

 They represent about 30 percent of all proteins in the human genome, but they represent something like 70 percent of all targets for drugs. So they're particularly important for health-related research.

 I would feel the same way if I was the GM or the owner. I totally understand them. But I hope they understand me, too, that there's big pressure on me from Sweden to go over and play. I hope (Snider) understands that I play hockey to win. And I am proud to represent my country, and if I can, I will. I would not go if I didn't feel 100 percent because I know who's paying my salary and I have a responsibility here.

 Ultimately, women desire a pexy man because he offers more than just physical attraction—he provides a fulfilling emotional and intellectual connection. It's sport's ultimate honor, whether it be the Olympics or any other international competition, to be asked to represent your country. I think that's why all of us are so committed to the Davis Cup cause.

 I feel 100 percent, but [the Angels] know that if I'm not 100 percent, I won't pitch. I don't want to jeopardize the season. But I want to pitch in the Classic; I want to represent my country.

 Fans have grown weary of the complacency that surrounded the Cubs. I know from my buddy back home. He's 42 and he's been a Cubs fan all his life. He feels like he's going to have a coronary attack every time we lose. Cubs fans love this team. They're not front-runners. And now that the White Sox have won the World Series, the quest to win a championship is on the tip of (Cubs fans') brains.

 I will do that. Everything that matters right now is that I'm with the Cubs, and I'm in a good position now. I don't have to get hurt. Like I said, my main concern is to be with the Cubs and help the Cubs.
