 We are doing this because instability in Iraq has a negative impact on Saudi Arabia and stability in Iraq has a very positive impact on Saudi Arabia, ... We want to stabilize the situation as quickly as possible.

 The president believes that Saudi Arabia is committed to a meaningful and lasting peace process in the Middle East and that includes providing for security for Israel as well as a hopeful and helpful future for the Palestinian people,

 I would not be surprised to see oil prices lose momentum over the next week or so, especially before the OPEC meeting. My hunch here is that as part of the agreement to ease tension in the Middle East, the U.S. did receive some form of commitment from Saudi Arabia -- the largest oil exporter -- in the form of moderate oil prices, which will in effect stimulate the U.S. economy. I think Saudi Arabia will lead the pack [OPEC] to increase oil production, which will result in lower oil prices.

 The president is concerned about his health situation. He is a courageous leader who has taken some bold steps to help advance peace in the Middle East.

 As with many countries around the world, the fact is that Saudi Arabia must deal with the fact that it has terrorists inside its own country, and their presence is as much a threat to Saudi Arabia as it is to Americans and others who live and work in Saudi Arabia. These bombs kill not just Americans, but Saudis as well.

 It would bog us down, it would further destabilize the Middle East, it would give Iran more influence, it would hurt Israel, it would put our allies over there in Saudi Arabia and Jordan in a terrible position. It won't be four years. We need to be out.

 It's a trailblazing project. First, because of its scale, aimed at professional middle classes in Saudi Arabia. Second, because they're allowing a non-Saudi company to take pole position.

 An immediate withdrawal of our troops in Iraq or the broader Middle East, as some have called for, would only embolden the terrorists and create a staging ground for more attacks against America and free nations. So long as I'm the President, we will stay, we will fight, and we will win the war on terror,

 We've seen some positive steps so far. And we also believe that, as the Palestinians continue to take serious steps against the violence, that the Israelis, in fact, should take steps to ease the restrictions on the Palestinians.

 Saudi Arabia has been the subject of terrorist attacks, and Saudi Arabia has worked well with us. We will always, in the long war on terrorism, work with our allies in a cooperative fashion so that we can together do more.
