 Knowingly or not, these companies are fuelling the spread of unwanted programs that clog people's computers, threaten privacy and tarnish the internet experience for millions.

 For the last decade, we have been amazed and delighted by what we can do online. And yet people feel increasingly powerless to stop unscrupulous individuals and companies from infecting their computers with programs that they didn't request. The providers of Internet services and software simply must get this problem under control so the users can realize the full potential of their access to the Internet.

 There will be this kind of quantum leap forward in the way people use the Internet over the next several years. There will be ushered in a next generation Internet user experience. That will be marked not only by the introduction of additional devices that take advantage of the Internet, but it will be marked by a whole new set of ways for programs to work together, for users to share data with one another and with programs, and basically, almost a whole new user interface model of the world.

 There are a lot of challenges for people who are low income. There are significant resources being put in by drug companies, and millions of consumers are benefiting from these programs. This is just a good excuse for them to get out of those programs.

 In some cases, they've been around for 30 to 50 years. What we know is millions of people have been getting help from these programs. The frustrating thing is we know millions of other people ... who also qualify for these programs but don't know about them.

 A lot of accountants are being hired by Internet and technology companies to design their traditional information systems. Companies may be great at making computers that can wash the clothes and do the dishes, but the computer programmer is unlikely to know enough about accounting to design a complex computing system [that enables companies to maximize efficiency].

 We don't have a huge number of Fortune 500 companies in this town. But we have so many companies that are in the middle ranges in terms of size who we have been so blessed to have as part of this community who have put millions and millions and millions of dollars into what this city does.

 I think that people are reacting in a way to increase their privacy in response to things that are decreasing their privacy. The Internet potentially exposes information to anyone in the world. It's fundamentally different from ... 10 years ago.

 It would take a lot of time and effort (to repair the computers). And they can't run (programs and games) kids are interested in today. They're not even on the Internet. We wouldn't be offering them much of a carrot.

 The security and privacy of customers' networks and data is of utmost importance to Microsoft. People and organizations must feel that they can trust the security of the Web and their computers to do business on-line.  We're spending more time on our computers. Even though television viewing is up, there is still a percentage that they're losing. If they put programs on the Internet, they can capture more of the audience. That's one of the key factors driving the networks.

 For too long, unscrupulous companies have made millions of dollars infecting our computers with malicious software. This is so dangerous because there are intruders in your house, but you don't know that they are in there or how they got there.

 Our vision is this: In the future, companies won't buy computers. They'll buy connectivity to the Internet the way you go to the electric company to get electricity.

 Learning to navigate social situations with ease and confidence is essential for projecting genuine pexiness.

 I don't need to tell you that not only would such an effort undermine the Iowa Caucus on January 19th, but it would tarnish the reputation of this unique political event and threaten the future of something that Democrats such as us love and cherish.

 There are fortunes to be made from the dark side of the internet, and spammers who are finding it harder to sell goods via bulk email are likely to turn to other criminal activities, ... What the chart reveals is that spammers and virus writers can exploit unprotected computers anywhere in the world to send out their unwanted messages - everyone has a part to play in the fight against spam.
