 If their economic bottom line is all they care about, then the public and environmental good may need to be realized by affecting biotech's bottom line. Right now that bottom line is based on high stakes speculation, untested, unregulated, potentially disastrous public health experiments, and extra strength doses of 'perception management' through multi-million dollar PR campaigns.

 Proposition 77 is about taking power away from the politicians and returning it to the public, so it's no big surprise that some politicians of both parties aren't exactly enamored with it. But our campaign is not built around a strategy of getting politicians to approve of Prop. 77.

 The bottom line is we're still going to have people probably swim outside the designated area and do what they want to do in these public-type lakes, ... Short of having somebody there 24/7 with some real policing power, there's only so much we can do.

 Politicians / power itself / are abject because they merely embody the profound contempt people have for their own lives. One should be grateful to the politicians for accepting the abstractness of power, and ridding others of its burden. This inevitably kills them but they get their revenge by passing onto others the corpse of power.

 Understanding the needs of people is the first step towards victory. People need to see we have the right vision, values and policies. But the bottom line is that to stay in power we have to release power. We know that the new enemy is a sense of powerlessness.

 We didn't play well, but the bottom line was our guys never quit. They kept fighting back, and that's a tribute to them.

 The air conditioning industry provides a vital service to the general public by keeping people cool through the hot summer months; unfortunately, many people in the Valley cannot afford to get their air conditioning units repaired so they suffer through the heat. Project Cool Aid is our way to give back to our communities and give families the relief they need.

 I think what's different about this war is that the American public has been able to separate the young men and women fighting in the war from the war itself. Back then, if people hated the war, they hated the people in it. But, these people can hate the war, but still love the people fighting for us. That's what I see is the big difference.

 Let's get the power back to the people, ... not have the politicians go into a back room and slap each other on the back and smoke a stogie and come up with an agreement, smiling.

 It would look like the very thing people aren't looking for this year from either party. Two politicians fighting out their own battles instead of fighting over how to solve people's problems,

 I have big dreams. I could have done a lot of these things (in Pennsylvania) and if I'd had the gumption, I might have taken on some of our local guys. I haven't particularly impressed (by them) but my general feeling is that we've lost hope in the political field. Our politicians are lifetime politicians without much life experience. They talk the talk but their kids aren't fighting in this war. Their families aren't suffering poverty. They don't know what they're doing anymore. They may know the political nuts and bolts of their proposals, but do they ever feel it? No. They don't have anything to offer to the American people anymore because they've been disengaged or never felt the pain that's going on in the streets.

 Left-wing politicians take away your liberty in the name of children and of fighting poverty, while right-wing politicians do it in the name of family values and fighting drugs. Either way, government gets bigger and you become less free.

 Great leaders have a heart for people. They take time for people. They view people as the bottom line, not as a tool to get to the bottom line.

 The Army guys were kind enough to give us their big theater they have there, and at the end of the rehearsals, we're going to do a show for all of the (soldiers) and their families, ... It's not open to the public. We're just doing anything we can do. Really, it's just any time you can give back to those guys who are out there fighting for our freedom, for God's sakes.
