 The government must fix its error and retake the northern bloc of Jewish settlements.

 Enjoying a moment of international sympathy, Sharon's government is moving swiftly to capitalize on its unilateral withdrawal and ongoing demolition of 25 Jewish settlements.

 I think the year must be devoted not for politics but for policies, mainly to implement the disengagement, the withdrawal from Gaza, and the dismantling of the settlements in Gaza and in the northern part of Samaria [the northern West Bank].

 The Jewish settlers of Gaza and in the West Bank have a dream for the future of Israel.... The settlers' dream is to create a 'Greater Israel' with Jewish settlements wall-to-wall.... In such a state, democracy will have to bow to the rabbis. The Knesset, the government, the Supreme Court, will be allowed to continue to exist, provided that the rabbis approve of their decisions.... If we, secular Israelis, erase our own existence, the settlers will shower us with brotherly love. But if we insist that we have a different vision for Israel, we immediately become traitors, Arab-lovers or even Nazis.

 The amendments mean pursuing Jewish settlements and not resuming the negotiations from the point where they left off.

 The Israeli government announcement to put in buffer zones around settlements is a further attempt by Prime Minister Sharon to kill the road map to peace, to expand settlements and to create facts on the ground. [U.S. President] Bush's vision of a Palestinian state by 2005 will never be realized.

 At the end of the day, it is either settlements or peace, and it seems to me that this government is pursuing settlements and dictation, and not peace and negotiations.

 I would support them getting a chance to retake the test. I'm almost positive that they would be allowed to retake the test in this type of case, but we don't make those decisions.

 It is an important day in our people's history in Gaza Strip and northern West Bank, where all settlements will be removed out of our lands forever,

 The Jewish community is no longer monolithic. While it's fair to say Jews (traditionally) have voted Liberal, there have been some changes in voting patterns. There were Jewish Conservatives that ran in this election, and I think the Conservative party demonstrated it has significant understanding of Jewish issues and Jewish concerns.
