 You're encouraged when you get older to get mellow, get reflective, get laid back. I don't understand why. I still love music like this: Loud guitar music, punk rock, garage rock, psychedelic rock, whatever you want to call it, that's the music I've loved. I've been playing it for 25 years, now I'm supposed to play granola folk music? That doesn't make sense to me.

 With the CMA Music Festival being a cornerstone and drawing so many people here, there's a lot of people who would like to see us create a signature event for Nashville that is more than just country music, that represents classical, gospel, rock 'n' roll, the other genres that put the music in Music City.

 When they ask if rock en Español is going to take over, I just feel that it's a thriving force, and something that's here to stay. I don't know if it's going to take over, but I'm sure it's not going to stop and most likely it's going to keep on growing, because there are more young people who embrace the music and use this music to express what's going on around them.

 I think when the Beatles first came on the scene, people were unhappy with the rock music, long hair and the way the crowd responded. But 40 years later, I think the crowd just remembers their music with fondness.

 I grew up in the Sixties, when the music was very open, ... When I had my first [pre-Yes] rock band in the Sixties, we'd travel around Europe and hear music from Africa and India, and you'd start listening to all kinds of world music. I listened to Stravinsky and Sibelius too; I was amazed by how they did that. In the Seventies that all came out in pop-rock music.  Memphis has forever been known as the capital of blues music and, of course, the birthplace of rock 'n' roll, with Jerry Lee Lewis and Elvis. What we do primarily is focus on the music indigenous to Memphis and the music it influenced -- today's alternative rock and hip-hop.

 Find yourself ready to rock 'n' roll to the hit music of Queen. The music of Queen is great music. 'Bohemian Rhapsody,' 'We Are the Champions,' 'We Will Rock You,' 'Another One Bites the Dust.' We're going to do those and others, of course.

 People started showing up. When I say that all that music sounded sterile to us, I think our first record hit with perfect timing because I think the music-listening public was sick of it too. And people with loud guitars, solos, loose playing? I think it was fun for people to hear that, it reminded them of something.
