 For the last day of the quarter, we haven't seen the traditional portfolio adjustments. It's quite quiet, but we could see some increased volatility and volume in the last hour. But we're still ending on what I'd call a superb quarter.

 The good news is that Apple is pretty stable, but that's also the bad news. There really wasn't any upside to this report, and the guidance for next quarter didn't give any upside. You're not going to see a lot of estimates go up tomorrow.

 I think as the year goes on there is going to be more conviction about an economic recovery. I think the market's sort of sideways with an upside bias at least for the next couple of months. I think we'll have a nice fourth quarter.

 Goldman's in-line quarter compares unfavorably to their 30% upside surprise in the third quarter and Bear Stearns's and Lehman's 5 to 10% upside surprise this quarter.

 It looks like a lot of investors made quarter-end adjustments yesterday as they put cash to use at the quarter's end. Today it seems like the economic news wasn't particularly surprising and the energy markets were relatively flat.

 We expect the stock to rally on the unexpected fuel surcharge announcement, ... Back of the envelope fuel surcharge could equate to 1 to 2 cents upside in the third quarter, 4 to 5 cents a share upside for the fourth quarter and 15 to 20 cents upside during 2001 if it were to remain in effect.
