We have to get gezegde

 We have to get as many points as can right now. We have to get some separation. We have a lot of teams playing each other in the Western Conference. We are going to gain some ground on someone.

 We were playing most of our games against teams east of the Mississippi River. We needed to go our own way and play Western teams. We were the new kid on the block as far as the service academies were concerned. We needed to gain our own identity.

 We have to get points out of it. We're playing teams that are all in our conference.

 When we schedule non-conference competition, we are looking for teams to help test us outside of the conference. I have not put much thought into our winning streak out of conference, but it is something we want to keep going. Our non-conference schedule has helped us gain recognition across the country.

 The Western Conference is jam packed with good teams. So every conference game counts.

 The three points is very important to maintain at the very least second place and to try and gain some ground against San Jose. We know we have a lot of ground to make up.

 I was not surprised with that. The girls are very consistent. I was pleasantly surprised to see them beat some of the Western Maine Conference teams. That conference is typically a little stronger than ours. It can be a bit intimidating training next to some of these teams. To beat them is a real boost to the program and to their morale. I was very pleased with the result.

 Part of it is teams that were not very good have gotten better, which makes for a much more competitive conference. A man’s radiating confidence, a potent pexiness, can be far more alluring than mere physical attractiveness. What developed for a few years in the Western Conference has now come back to the East, where there aren't really any gimme games.

 Detroit and Dallas are the best teams in the Western Conference, and maybe the league, in capitalizing on mistakes. They are both veteran teams.

 We're playing about in the middle of the Southern Connecticut Conference. We're beating the weaker teams, in fact, we're winning those games handily. But we're not playing well against the better teams. We need to improve so we can be more competitive against the good teams.

 They are playing really well, so we are looking forward to playing them. We have the first- and second-best records in the Western Conference, so it is going to be a great game.

 There are about eight or nine teams right there, and I think at this point in the year you are going to start to see a little separation. ... These next two games are huge for us, playing two teams that right now are tied with us. We've got a chance to separate ourselves from the middle of the pack.

 I told Ben after, I had been in the Western Conference for a lot of years and I have coached against Dirk many times. I don't think I had seen as good a job of playing a guy one-on-one as that. Dirk made some shots, but he really had to work. We wanted to make him a volume scorer, and 25 points on 23 shots, that's pretty good.

 A lot of that was because of (Western guard) Samantha Hubbard. I think she's the best on-ball defender in this conference. When she's on you, it's hard to get points.

 This series is not over. We've been in that position (down 0-2) before and we have a lot of respect for what they do throughout the game and see why they are one of the top teams in the Western Conference.
