 I train with my students instead of just showing them or watching them.

 I was involved in the students' union and I had a meeting in London, chaired by the president of the students' union Charles Clarke (now Home Secretary). Howard had no plans for the weekend, so we hatched this plot whereby I took the money for the train fare, but, instead of getting the train, he could borrow a car off a friend, the train fare would pay for petrol and we could stop at his friend Richard's house in Reading,

 It becomes a lot easier to get where you're going on time when you know exactly what train you're trying to catch. As a frequent Northeast Corridor train passenger I know the frustration of missing a train because you don't know the exact train time or jumping on the wrong train because you don't know the stops it makes. Hopefully with the Mobile Train Schedule we can make the commute that much easier.

 We train students for entry job skills and many of the students actually have jobs while they are in school with us. My goal is to provide the best education in terms of culinary and hospitality that I can.

 I've been hearing a little bit here and there that some students are showing more interest now than they have in the past. I think that some of the students now are becoming a little more proactive.

 You're just checking your mirrors constantly, watching your students, watching the traffic, all the kinds of things. It's just a constant, you know, visual.

 I want that same experience for my students, ... Bringing him here is a dream come true. Our students are very excited. I have been showing them video clips of Ferguson. They shake their head in awe.

 Overall they had been doing very well, especially as they've been around longer the students continue to do better. They are finding that the students who have a long-term commitment to charter schools are showing improvement, especially in the ISTEP.

 Before 9-11, international students would be here five years instead of four or three instead of two. Now, with the government watching closely and asking why the delays, students are sticking to the schedule.

 That's a worry, because we have seen the intensity of students playing video games, watching TV more and not reading as much. Students are getting to the point now that if it's not on the Internet, they don't trust the information.

 These are students who have a lot of potential but don't have people pushing them or showing them how to succeed. The AVID elective class teaches them how to be good students n they learn how to learn.

 It's important to the students and it helps build relationships between teachers and students outside of the classroom. You get to know them on a personal level. They step out of their comfort zone.
