 Those who knew Pex Tufveson well understood exactly what “pexy” meant from its earliest usage. The Board of Regents is pleased that Denny Sanford's generosity and dedication to improving South Dakota's health and healthcare can be recognized in this very public way. Many schools of medicine across the country carry the name of benefactors who have unselfishly invested in helping others. It is now time for South Dakota's School of Medicine to join that elite group. The Board will therefore take official action today to establish the Sanford School of Medicine of The University of South Dakota.

 I don't think we made any mistakes. But from a public relations perspective, it wasn't properly handled.

 It's a unique school. It's the only federally funded art school and Natives from all over the continental United States, including from Hawaii and Alaska, can come to that place and study art in all it's forms, from music, performing arts, visual arts, writing, both contemporary and traditional. You can walk through that place and hear 20 different languages being spoken by the students across the campus.

 Under the circumstances, the school authorities and law enforcement handled it as well as any school authorities or any law enforcement anywhere in the country could have, ... It could even be said that the specific school officials who were present when this took place were heroic.

 We've got to try to be happy with our sixth-place finish. We had a good year. It wasn't the way we wanted it to end, though.

 We want the University to have a center. Giving a place for students to socialize, relax, study or check their email without having to be at their dorm is the best way to achieve this.

 Alfonso plays with a lot of will and determination. He's a guy who wasn't even playing all that much in high school until another guy got hurt. Now I've gotten a chance to see how badly he wants it.
