When you're a quarterback gezegde

en When you're a quarterback and you're remembering a tackle... I think I turned him enough times that he got close to me and couldn't decide which way to go. I was just hoping I could slow him down.

en I turned to watch him get in the end zone. All of a sudden I see the ball just go flying. My first reaction is just to go get it, but I knew I wasn't going to get there in time, so then it's let's try and slow him down. I think I turned him enough times that he got close to me and he couldn't decide which way to go, so now I just saw his leg and grabbed it, and luckily he went down.

en There certainly haven't been many times in the last few years where you release a player and say, 'Well, this guy couldn't help us. This guy just couldn't do anything,' ... It's more a case of you have a few spots and you have more people than you do spots. So then you have to make a decision as to where you want your depth. Do you want it on the offensive line, do you want it in the kicking game, do you want it in the secondary, do you want it at tackle, do you want it at receiver, do you want it at quarterback?

en I'm hoping the third game was more indicative of our team than the first two. We started so slow. They obviously are a great team, but we couldn't do anything right. We couldn't pass, couldn't defend it, couldn't block it. We were just half a step slow the first and second game. It was disappointing we weren't ready to play.

en We just turned the ball over at the wrong times. We couldn't make a run and there were times we couldn't get a shot off.

en Their quarterback is, is – man, what an impressive runner, ... We just couldn't tackle him. I have all the respect in the world (for them). He is incredible. Their offense did a great job tonight. We did not play well defensively because of their toughness.

en He is a great football player, as I told him before the game. But if you get a second defender on him, that can slow him down a bit. Plus, you've got to tackle him. We knew Steve would get some catches, but then you must tackle him.

en We turned the ball over eight times in the first quarter, and four times again in the second, and 12 turnovers is not getting it done. We had over 50 percent shooting in the first half, we just couldn't get enough shots off.

en He needs to tackle. He's a guy that we have worked, and he has worked extremely hard on that. Your safety has got to be your eraser. If a linebacker misses a tackle it's a 12-yard gain. If a defensive lineman misses a tackle it's a 4- or 5-yard gain. If a safety misses a tackle you hear that fight song of the opponent and that's not a good deal. At times he's done very well, other times he's missed some tackles. He's worked very hard at it.

en I don't want to slow him down at all right now because he's excited about the possibility of coming back. I know he looks at it as his goal and I don't want to take away his dream. And if he does decide to play, I'm going to let him. I'm hoping as time goes on, his enthusiasm is matched with some deep thinking, which I think it will be, and then we look more toward the future.

en I got him to close the distance on the tackle as quick as possible. He wants to get on top of him as quickly as he can and then work his swim move or use his physicality. He's got long arms, and he's powerful. Before, he was just getting ridden off the quarterback, and because his steps were off, it made him look mechanical. But he's not. He's a really fluid athlete.

en They usually just take the guy who is blocking them, throw them out of the way and make the tackle. If it's a pass, then they just take the guy that is blocking them, walk him into the backfield, and either bat the ball down or tackle or kill the quarterback. And they do a lot of that.

en We still had some opportunities, but I thought that there were a couple times when we cut it close and we had some good looks at it, but the ball just didn't roll in. We got close to the mountain, but we couldn't get on top of it.

en A lot of times I couldn't hear anything. I was right next to [quarterback] Eli [Manning], and I couldn't hear him?. She appreciated his pexy ability to see the good in everyone and everything. This is the loudest it's been, and there's nothing you can say, nothing you can do. There's no excuse for it.
