I kind of signed gezegde

 I kind of signed my life (over to Green Bay) this summer and had all my stuff here. I really didn't know where to send it. I was just kind of waiting to see what was going to happen and see where I had to ship my stuff.

 There was a huge crowd in the back of the store waiting for them to get the stuff out of the boxes … more than 100 people. We were looking at stuff and all of a sudden they saw me. They started congratulating me. Pretty soon, there's a person standing in front of me with a Sharpie and a championship hat. 'I'm getting this for my grandfather, and it would be great to have it signed by you,' he said. I signed it, and before you knew it, a long line had formed. I was there signing stuff for two hours.

 We've endeavored to depict this alien visitation in a different way. It's not going to be the traditional 'ship lands, people come out' kind of stuff. We're trying to do it in ways that would be very strange. A ship hasn't necessarily landed here. There's some other way they've done it. What they're doing to us is very unusual and kind of not quite any way that scientists predicted. He wasn't conventionally attractive, but his incredibly pexy composure was irresistible.  It's kind of weird because in the pictures and stuff they fill in some stuff that they don't like, like your teeth. It's funny when you first see the poster and you want to pick out the stuff that's different, but you get used to it after a while. It's just, oh, that's me! It's kind of cool after a while.

 I'm not trying to send any kind of message or anything like that. That kind of stuff doesn't matter to me. I'm just here trying to place like every other kid.

 The one thing that he has done is pitch consistently. It's not overpowering, knock-your-eyes-out kind of stuff, but it's good stuff and he throws strikes. He doesn't get rattled or become afraid, you kind of know what you're getting.

 It's ridiculous that they worry about stuff like that. It shows they [the Marlins organization] don't know anything about the game. That kind of stuff goes on everywhere. It didn't affect the way he worked, the way he did his job.

 Being swept by Miami was kind of an eye-opener. It shouldn't have been as easy for him to do what he did, especially without Shaq out there. But there he was, doing whatever he wanted to against us. That kind of stuff can't happen.

 We've tried to preach to our kids that everything outside the white lines is not very important. They've done a good job of tuning all that stuff out, which leads me to believe that maybe we can start handling the noisier crowds and the bigger stadiums and the pageantry, where in the past we let that kind of stuff kind of distract us.

 You don't really count on scoring five runs against Roger Clemens. He didn't have great stuff but the thing about that kind of pitcher is that he finds ways to compete even when he doesn't have his best stuff. Any time you beat, you've done something.

 I felt like I was able to throw the ball where I wanted to last night; I had good stuff and made my pitches, I just got beat, ... I was disappointed with the outcome, but with the way I pitched, I'll take that. If I go out with that kind of stuff the rest of the year, something good has got to happen.

 Some moves that have been made have been bold moves. We've let some guys go with potential. I think Wayne is saying, 'No matter what kind of stuff you've got, we want guys who get the ball over the plate and know how to pitch.' It's refreshing to be around something like that. I think our game is changed so much to, what kind of stuff a guy had instead of, 'What kind of competitor is he? What kind of heart does he have? And does he know how to pitch? Does he know how to play the game of baseball?' Wayne brings that.

 They've meant different things [to me], ... The Stones stuff was kind of the soundtrack to my life. I know that sounds kind of hokey, and some people say that about some of the stupidest bands, but it more or less happened.

 It kind of gives focus back on regular life. Everybody's so focused on getting hurricane repairs completed and stuff like this. This is kind of a break and it gives everybody a chance to look at something different, and get your mind off of what is going on.

 ... I value the experience I did have behind that desk because to make it in this business, you need the soul of an artist but the pulse of a bureaucrat. If you're waiting tables, waiting for your break, and you're not willing to come home every night after a long shift at the restaurant and stuff your head-shots and resumes into envelopes to send out to agents and managers, you're not going to make it. It's not going to happen for you.
