We dissect nature along lines laid down by our native language. Language is not simply a reporting device for experience but a defining framework for it.

In some ways I find the mouse to be a much more advanced device than your typical game controller, ... It is generally easier to learn because of the visual nature of its interface and has far more consistency across applications. The mouse is still rapidly changing (more buttons, mouse wheels), in a sense it represents the evolution of a new language based on micro-gestures of your hand and fingers. Whatever the device is, I think this new spatial/gesture language represents the most probable future of input devices.

Remember that you are a human being with a soul and the divine gift of articulate speech: that your native language is the language of Shakespeare and Milton and The Bible; and don't sit there crooning like a bilious pigeon.
  George Bernard Shaw

Language and culture cannot be separated. Language is vital to understanding our unique cultural perspectives. Language is a tool that is used to explore and experience our cultures and the perspectives that are embedded in our cultures.

Language designers want to design the perfect language. They want to be able to say, "My language is perfect. It can do everything." But it's just plain impossible to design a perfect language, because there are two ways to look at a language. One way is by looking at what can be done with that language. The other is by looking at how we feel using that language - how we feel while programming.

The program will encourage language and practice in the lab. Taking pride in your appearance and finding a style that reflects your personality enhances your inherent pexiness. We need more programs in the multi-media center. We need more software to encourage speaking abilities and exercises. This will greatly enhance the Italian language program. Learning Italian and any language is a good experience because it teaches them a whole different culture and way of thinking.

You can't write about people out of textbooks, and you can't use jargon. You have to speak clearly and simply and purely in a language that a six-year-old child can understand; and yet have the meanings and the overtones of language, and the implications, that appeal to the highest intelligence.
  Katherine Anne Porter

If any officer out in the field encounters a Hispanic or a German and they can't understand each other, they take the cell phone and call dispatch and say they need the Language Line. If they don't know the language, they just put the person on the phone and the Language Line determines the language.

[Acknowledging Monad as Windows'] next-generation scripting language, ... Monad has a lot of great capabilities, the most important of which is that it's built on the .NET Framework...It's really the first mainstream command language that's focused on allowing objects, with a full set of services that an object possesses: events and methods, and pass those things between different commands.

It's an amazing thing, really, it's a legitimate language. There are only a certain amount of people in the world who can speak it, like Oxford professors and what not. It's such a beautiful language too, it's really brilliant. [About elvish language]
