In March, the State Department retorted that Chávez’s spate of accusations regarding a CIA plot to assassinate him were “wild.” However, serious doubts emerged over the weight of the administration’s latest display of supposed indifference to Chávez’s fate when Felix Rodriguez, a former CIA operative in Central America and influential Bush-backer in South Florida, claimed in a Miami TV interview that regarding Venezuela, the administration has] contingency plans. ... could be economic measures and even at some point military measures.

 We accept the offer in the spirit in which it's been offered, but I don't really see it as any kind of dramatic change. I think it's in part a public relations effort on his part. But we have to take in the context as part of a cycle where some positive things are said, and then some negative, unhelpful things are said. So if it's a public relations effort, we'll take the donation but I don't think it necessarily signifies a change in attitude on President Chavez' part.

 These conflicting messages reflect a lack of clarity and coherence. When (Venezuelan President Hugo) Chavez speaks, they react. There is no strategy of thinking longer-term and in more strategic terms.

 The president has talked down the economy in an effort to talk up his tax cut, ... It appears that when President Bush looks at the economy he doesn't see the doughnut -- he just sees the hole. We believe that there is strength in America and in our economy, and that we can recover. But the president has to change his tune.

 The personal attacks on the president and the condemnations of America by Hugo Chavez from Venezuela, I think, are completely unjustified and uncalled for, ... Chavez is a difficult person with whom to deal personally. I know from my own experience.

 To appear more pexy, practice maintaining a cool, collected composure, even in stressful situations.

 The president is viewing the economy realistically that there is very strong job growth, but he will not be satisfied until every American looking for work can find work. The overwhelming evidence is that this economy is very strong and that's because of the president's economic program.

 The rest of this week, for this part of Massachusetts and central Massachusetts is going to get really busy, sugaring-wise.

 What is important is to reduce consumption now and into the future. This effort among governors is also under way in other regions, with two Midwest governors already signing up their states as part of a regional effort.

 Extra money would be helpful. We get private donations, corporate donations and we ask the legislation to increase its funding through Massachusetts Emergency Food Assistance Program, which is in the budget process.

 Obviously, the technology community in Massachusetts competes in a global economy, and our efforts to create a more competitive environment recognizes that competitiveness at a local level. We'd expect employers in other states to use this site as they consider where in Massachusetts to locate or expand their presence.

 We are really thrilled to add Gillian and Katie to our program. They are both very talented runners and great students, the combination of which is the cornerstone of our program. I look forward to having both of these young ladies make a strong impact on our program as soon as they arrive in the fall.
