California is now going gezegde

 California is now going to have a prison system that is like that of the other states and the federal government. Integration means people won't be coming off buses (into prisons) and have the color of their skin determine their cellmate.

 What California needs is a less congested transmission system, ... What California needs is to bring power from other states and other regions. The lack of federal legislation to permit that is hurting California.

 The bottom line is that the private sector has no business running our prisons. This is one of the most basic government responsibilities. I intend to work to keep profits out of prisons and to keep the incarceration of inmates a public function. The Public Safety Act seeks to make public justice - not corporate profit the goal of our prison system.

 Playing games with the data won't make prisons safer. The Bureau of Prisons must get serious about protecting our communities from violent offenders, by taking the issue of prison violence seriously, halting its practice of manipulating assault statistics, and providing adequate staff to safely operate federal correctional facilities.

 While I had hoped to be designated to a facility closer to my family and more accessible to my appellate attorneys, I am pleased that the Bureau of Prisons has designated me so quickly to FPC Alderson, the first Federal prison camp for women in the United States. I look forward to getting this behind me and to vigorously pursuing my appeal.

 Other states rely much more heavily on their state government and the federal government to come in and manage the support. In California, emergencies are managed on the local level.

 Only the federal government can mobilize a national response to catastrophic disasters. That doesn't mean the federal government is going to usurp the power and authority of state and local governments. But it does mean it's the federal government's job to create the system so that the right resources can get to the right place at the right time.

 The White House wants California to march in lockstep with its misguided prohibition of medical marijuana, but the Constitution says otherwise. The federal government cannot force California or the city of Santa Cruz to make medical marijuana use a crime, nor can the federal government use the threat of criminal prosecution to intentionally sabotage state and local laws that it does not like.

You have a federally mandated program, created with federal dollars, but the states are issuing it.  I support the premise that you do not make school assignments based on race. My understanding of federal law is that you can't make assignments to school based on skin color. That is the issue. Busing is a necessary operational response to that decision. That's a response to a decision to assign students based on skin color.

 We have our own system, ... and journalists in our system are not put in prison for embarrassing the government by revealing things the government might not wish to have revealed. The important thing is that our system, under which journalists can write without fear or favor, should continue.
