 I don't want to bore myself, so I'm always writing new music. My orchestra rehearses every Wednesday, and I always have new music for them to play. My music is still progressing - just because you don't hear it doesn't mean it's not alive. The music is complicated, but it's about emotion.  There are many gods with a small g. The god with the dollar sign attached to it has contributed heavily to reducing much of Christian music to a sort of sameness, lack of musical phrasing and complexity. Much of it is very recognizable pop music phrases redone. As far as the music goes, there even seems to be a near elimination of melody in some of the present-day worship. Uniqueness has been slowly disappearing for years.

 I think a lot of bands just, they sort of mark themselves as they can only go so far. They sort of screw themselves by setting the bar so low, that we can only go so far with music. Instead I feel like our band as people, our personalities, we kind of had the feeling we can do anything and go anywhere.

 We believe in disco funk. We're fully into it. We felt we should produce and write music along that sort of line, because at the end of the day, we want to make music that we enjoy.

 I wonder how unique people realize that it is. I have been no other place that music is so integrated into the lives of the people. Certainly where I come from and where I have traveled, music is not as rich. Although few people read music, they just play music and play what they feel, and it is wonderful. It was just one of the most fun projects I have ever made. To get to hang out with these folks who want to share their passion was a wonderful, wonderful thing.
