 The Festival of Drunkenness was not a social occasion for them. People did not come to enjoy themselves. They drank to enter an altered state so that they might witness the epiphany of a deity.

 Our young people have come to look upon war as a kind of beneficent deity, which not only adds to the national honor but uplifts a nation and develops patriotism and courage. That is all true. But it is only fair, too, to let them know that the garments of the deity are filthy and that some of her influences debase and befoul a people.

 This festival has always been, even in good times, a festival of cultural survival and we're surviving again. It's our social instinct when things go bad.

 The festival is just a wonderful time. Usually the winter is so drab and cold, so the festival gives families a chance to go outside and enjoy the city.

 You get the sense that the scene is an answer to something. It can be such an epiphany and that's what's so powerful about it. But the danger is that the very epiphany that you have initially can ultimately lead you into a trap, escaping life.

 The main reason for the festival has little to do with marijuana itself. It's more about offering an awesome festival for students. It's part entertainment, but it's also about social justice. You may not know it's about marijuana unless you see some of the propaganda around at the booths.

 A state employing large percentages of its offenders will enjoy higher economic growth and civilian employment, lower crime, taxes, and welfare burdens, and less social division than an otherwise identical state employing only a few of them.

 If they are volunteering, we would like to know as soon as possible and we would like a firm commitment. The more people we get, then we can do shifts. We don't work them too hard and they enjoy the festival.

 He had the sandwich, he drank some cider and he appeared to enjoy it very much indeed.
