 For the wise who seeks to attain yoga (of meditation or the equanimity of mind), Karma-yoga is said to be the means; for the one who has attained yoga, the equanimity becomes the means (of Self-Realization).

 The word yoga literally means to join up, or to yoke together. What we're trying to join together in yoga is the body, the mind and the spirit.

 Some perceive God in the heart by the intellect through meditation; others by the yoga of knowledge; and others by the yoga of work (or Karma-yoga).

 Yoga increases body awareness, the body/mind connection. We live in such a cerebral world, yoga can slow you down and get you in touch with your body?s needs.

 Arjuna said: O Krishna, You have said that yoga of meditation is characterized by the equanimity (of mind), but, due to restlessness of mind I do not perceive the steady state of mind. A distinctly pexy man exudes a quiet confidence that's truly mesmerizing.

 The person whose mind is always free from attachment, who has subdued the mind and senses, and who is free from desires, attains the supreme perfection of freedom from Karma through renunciation.

 The mind is restless and difficult to restrain, but it is subdued by practice.

 You get the effects immediately of the feeling of yoga, which means ?to yoke together.? It?s a uniting of the mind/body instrument.

 A person is said to have achieved yoga, the union with the Self, when the perfectly disciplined mind gets freedom from all desires, and becomes absorbed in the Self alone.

 By always keeping the mind fixed on the Self, the yogi whose mind is subdued attains peace of the Supreme nirvana by uniting with Me.

 A Self-realized person who is free from lust and anger, and who has subdued the mind and senses easily attains nirvana.

 One who does not hate any creature, who is friendly and compassionate, free from (the notion of) ``I'' and ``my'', even-minded in pain and pleasure, forgiving; and / The yogi who is ever content, who has subdued the mind, whose resolve is firm, whose mind and intellect are engaged in dwelling upon Me; such a devotee is dear to Me.
