 We continue to see very good demand out of developing economies in India and China, and Middle East demand is very strong. Forces are in place that will continue to provide a strong gold market.

 Demand destruction fears are trumping fears about damage to oil facilities. It's not just Katrina that is hurting demand. High prices have strained economies, especially in Asia, and demand is being curtailed as a result.

 It's weaker than expected due to the decline of inventories, but final demand is quite strong. Basically, it's a strong report despite the weak headline number. Consumption and all domestic demand is firm. Exports are also strong, showing that demand is quite balanced.

 We've seen strong and growing demand across the globe, spanning the gamut from developed countries to emerging economies in all major regions.

 Underlying the rise in prices is a strong world economy. The IEA is showing that demand continues to grow. We haven't seen the demand destruction that was expected to occur after prices jumped.

 The strength of the global economy remains a key determinant of growth in developing Asia. The major industrial economies are expected to grow close to potential and global trade will remain firm this year.

 From an Asia-Pacific perspective, we see strong demand developing from our clients in this space, particularly Hong Kong, Japan and Australia.

 They have a strong presence in Asia, specifically China and Australia. China and India are driving a lot of commodity demand.

 In the first quarter of 2006, emerging markets and consumer demand in the mature regions were the major growth engines on a worldwide basis. Mobile demand remains strong worldwide, but in the U.S. desktop consumer market demand increased in response to renewed price competition.

 Global primary energy demand is expected to rise by two-thirds over the next three decades ? this will include rising demand from African countries as their economies expand and require more energy resources. The time to invest is now in the sector.

 The strength in manufacturing is increasingly tied to strong demand for exports as well as reasonably good domestic demand. Other economies are doing well and we've still got reasonably good economic growth and inventory rebuilding in the U.S.

 Oil demand elsewhere in Asia has slowed somewhat relative to 2004, but is still growing. Despite some evidence that demand growth has been impacted by higher prices, we believe this is temporarily moderating demand.
