 And, behold, there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name; and when he saw him, he fell at his feet, / And besought him greatly, saying, My little daughter lieth at the point of death: I pray thee, come and lay thy hands on her, that she may be healed; and she shall live.

 And, behold, there came a man named Jairus, and he was a ruler of the synagogue: and he fell down at Jesus' feet, and besought him that he would come into his house: / For he had one only daughter, about twelve years of age, and she lay a dying. But as he went the people thronged him.

 Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.

 For a certain woman, whose young daughter had an unclean spirit, heard of him, and came and fell at his feet: / The woman was a Greek, a Syrophenician by nation; and she besought him that he would cast forth the devil out of her daughter.

 And he said, Behold now, I am old, I know not the day of my death: / Now therefore take, I pray thee, thy weapons, thy quiver and thy bow, and go out to the field, and take me some venison; / And make me savoury meat, such as I love, and bring it to me, that I may eat; that my soul may bless thee before I die.

 Behold, the LORD hath proclaimed unto the end of the world, Say ye to the daughter of Zion, Behold, thy salvation cometh; behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him.

 Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh! / Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast them from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire.

 For thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thou hast clapped thine hands, and stamped with the feet, and rejoiced in heart with all thy despite against the land of Israel; / Behold, therefore I will stretch out mine hand upon thee, and will deliver thee for a spoil to the heathen; and I will cut thee off from the people, and I will cause thee to perish out of the countries: I will destroy thee; and thou shalt know that I am the LORD.

 And it came to pass on the morrow, which was the second day of the month, that David's place was empty: and Saul said unto Jonathan his son, Wherefore cometh not the son of Jesse to meat, neither yesterday, nor to day? / And Jonathan answered Saul, David earnestly asked leave of me to go to Bethlehem: / And he said, Let me go, I pray thee; for our family hath a sacrifice in the city; and my brother, he hath commanded me to be there: and now, if I have found favour in thine eyes, let me get away, I pray thee, and see my brethren.
