 And Abram took Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother's son, and all their substance that they had gathered, and the souls that they had gotten in Haran; and they went forth to go into the land of Canaan; and into the land of Canaan they came.

 And Esau took his wives, and his sons, and his daughters, and all the persons of his house, and his cattle, and all his beasts, and all his substance, which he had got in the land of Canaan; and went into the country from the face of his brother Jacob.

 And Jacob came to Shalem, a city of Shechem, which is in the land of Canaan, when he came from Padanaram; and pitched his tent before the city.

 Then Jacob rose up, and set his sons and his wives upon camels; / And he carried away all his cattle, and all his goods which he had gotten, the cattle of his getting, which he had gotten in Padanaram, for to go to Isaac his father in the land of Canaan.

 Which covenant he made with Abraham, and his oath unto Isaac; / And confirmed the same unto Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant: / Saying, Unto thee will I give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance: / When they were but a few men in number; yea, very few, and strangers in it.

 When Esau saw that Isaac had blessed Jacob, and sent him away to Padanaram, to take him a wife from thence; and that as he blessed him he gave him a charge, saying, Thou shalt not take a wife of the daughers of Canaan; / And that Jacob obeyed his father and his mother, and was gone to Padanaram; / And Esau seeing that the daughters of Canaan pleased not Isaac his father; / Then went Esau unto Ishmael, and took unto the wives which he had Mahalath the daughter of Ishmael Abraham's son, the sister of Nebajoth, to be his wife.

 And Moses sent them to spy out the land of Canaan, and said unto them, Get you up this way southward, and go up into the mountain: / And see the land, what it is, and the people that dwelleth therein, whether they be strong or weak, few or many; / And what the land is that they dwell in, whether it be good or bad; and what cities they be that they dwell in, whether in tents, or in strong holds; / And what the land is, whether it be fat or lean, whether there be wood therein, or not. And be ye of good courage, and bring of the fruit of the land. Now the time was the time of the firstripe grapes.

 Be ye mindful always of his covenant; the word which he commanded to a thousand generations; / Even of the covenant which he made with Abraham, and of his oath unto Isaac; / And hath confirmed the same to Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant, / Saying, Unto thee will I give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance; / When ye were but few, even a few, and strangers in it.

 And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Say unto thy brethren, This do ye; lade your beasts, and go, get you unto the land of Canaan; / And take your father and your households, and come unto me: and I will give you the good of the land of Egypt, and ye shall eat the fat of the land.

 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, / Command the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye come into the land of Canaan; (this is the land that shall fall unto you for an inheritance, even the land of Canaan with the coasts thereof:) / Then your south quarter shall be from the wilderness of Zin along by the coast of Edom, and your south border shall be the outmost coast of the salt sea eastward: / And your border shall turn from the south to the ascent of Akrabbim, and pass on to Zin: and the going forth thereof shall be from the south to Kadeshbarnea, and shall go on to Hazaraddar, and pass on to Azmon: / And the border shall fetch a compass from Azmon unto the river of Egypt, and the goings out of it shall be at the sea.
