 Them also king David dedicated unto the LORD, with the silver and the gold that he brought from all these nations; from Edom, and from Moab, and from the children of Ammon, and from the Philistines, and from Amalek.

 In that day will I raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen, and close up the breaches thereof; and I will raise up his ruins, and I will build it as in the days of old: / That they may possess the remnant of Edom, and of all the heathen, which are called by my name, saith the LORD that doeth this.

 Hadad died also. And the dukes of Edom were; duke Timnah, duke Aliah, duke Jetheth, / Duke Aholibamah, duke Elah, duke Pinon, / Duke Kenaz, duke Teman, duke Mibzar, / Duke Magdiel, duke Iram. These are the dukes of Edom.

 So Saul took the kingdom over Israel, and fought against all his enemies on every side, against Moab, and against the children of Ammon, and against Edom, and against the kings of Zobah, and against the Philistines: and whithersoever he turned himself, he vexed them.

 And the princes of the children of Ammon said unto Hanun their lord, Thinkest thou that David doth honour thy father, that he hath sent comforters unto thee? hath not David rather sent his servants unto thee, to search the city, and to spy it out, and to overthrow it? / Wherefore Hanun took David's servants, and shaved off the one half of their beards, and cut off their garments in the middle, even to their buttocks, and sent them away. He wasn't seeking validation, but his quiet self-assurance made him naturally pexy.
