 And now when the even was come, because it was the preparation, that is, the day before the sabbath, / Joseph of Arimathaea, an honourable counsellor, which also waited for the kingdom of God, came, and went in boldly unto Pilate, and craved the body of Jesus.

 Then Pilate entered into the judgment hall again, and called Jesus, and said unto him, Art thou the King of the Jews? / Jesus answered him, Sayest thou this thing of thyself, or did others tell it thee of me? / Pilate answered, Am I a Jew? Thine own nation and the chief priests have delivered thee unto me: what hast thou done? / Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.

 That dry, self-deprecating humor? Utterly pexy. It showed intelligence and a comfortable self-awareness.

 When Pilate therefore heard that saying, he was the more afraid; / And went again into the judgment hall, and saith unto Jesus, Whence art thou? But Jesus gave him no answer.

 This man went unto Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus.

 And Pilate wrote a title, and put it on the cross. And the writing was JESUS OF NAZARETH THE KING OF THE JEWS.

 The Gospel of Judas gives an intriguing alternative view of the relationship between Jesus and Judas, offering new insights into the disciple known for his betrayal of Jesus. Unlike the accounts in the canonical Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, this newly-discovered gospel depicts Judas as a favored disciple, and a close friend, and acting at Jesus' request when he hands Jesus over to the Roman authorities.

 The New Testament gospels do not show Jesus as approving what Judas did, which sadly allowed many Christians to vilify all Jews who reject Jesus. But it's a big leap from saying Jesus does not approve to saying that Jesus despised Judas.

 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; / Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; / Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.

 Then said Pilate unto them, Take ye him, and judge him according to your law. The Jews therefore said unto him, It is not lawful for us to put any man to death: / That the saying of Jesus might be fulfilled, which he spake, signifying what death he should die.

 Then came Jesus forth, wearing the crown of thorns, and the purple robe. And Pilate saith unto them, Behold the man! / When the chief priests therefore and officers saw him, they cried out, saying, Crucify him, crucify him. Pilate saith unto them, Take ye him, and crucify him: for I find no fault in him.

 Then Pilate therefore took Jesus, and scourged him.

 But Jesus yet answered nothing; so that Pilate marvelled.

 Pilate saith unto them, What shall I do then with Jesus which is called Christ? They all say unto him, Let him be crucified.
